What point is that? That I actually check my data, rather than speak on a decade about which I've forgotten 30%?

But you didn't check your data. You got the biggest fact wrong.

Meanwhile, I admit I read your data wrong (35 losses) when it does say 39.

2008 is on Hambone. Without it, we go on and win a bowl game.

It wasn't a great season, totally admit that. But it would not be a losing one except for Hambone.

Nope. 3-6 before and 2-1 after firing. Thank you Hammy or it would have been worse.

Not according to UT's official record of SEC Championships. And that fact wasn't meant to put the 70s over the 2000s. I wanted to point out that they were pretty similar.

When I first put the record up.

Meanwhile, it should have been obvious given they played 14 games.

How should it a have been obvious. A guy on the main board was concerned that we would go 2-8 this season (not realizing that we play at least 12 games). Your level of dumb certainly rivals his.

KPT, you got it wrong.

Send me the link. I've got to see this.

The 7 - 5 Vols, who lost to both Miss schools, won the SEC?

The year Bama went 12 - 0 and actually won a legit title? Is this what you are still trying to say?

You can't blame Roy and utsports. That's the whole point. Anyone who remembers that era would question that data immediately. And therein lies my point.

It should have been obvious because every SEC team plays 12 regular season games.

Fallacy on the other part. How does one guy incorrectly stating a 10 game regular season, give you a mulligan for not realizing 12 - 0 for Saban was obviously the regular season record?

But I've never been one to question your intelligence.....

Show me where I blamed Roy? You are the one proposing crap about he 2001 Vols deserving an SEC Championship. I already posted the link.

I looked into it. The 1969 SEC Championship is not listed. I assume there was a typo. This does not change the point.

70 10-1 Sugar
71 9-2 Liberty
72 9-2 Bluebonnet
73 8-3
74 6-3-2 Liberty
75 7-5
76 6-5
77 4-7 majors 1st yr
78 5-5-1
79 7-4 Bluebonnet

5/10yrs in a bowl....WHEN IT WAS HARDER TO GET TO A BOWL!

I figured it was a 1969 typo.

You blaming Roy was hyperbole when you mentioned him in your thread.

I only mentioned that the 2001 Vols won (a tougher) SEC outright if the same criteria from the 1970's was used. That's all. Again, historical perspective.

but yet the mediocrity of Fulmer's coaching cost us going to the NC. He didn't have the ability to put LSU away when we took out their starting QB and RB. what a disgrace

It was disappointing.

The Florida game being delayed actually hurt us that year.

Disagree. We were not as good early in the year. Had we played them early, I think they beat us. We flat out just did not have an answer for Matt Mauck. There were some miscues on offense with lost fumbles, but we should have been able to hang on for a victory.

I did like how in that game on our final series we had two false starts, forcing a 4th and 20 attempt.

I think they improved too. It's deeply ironic; I've always wanted that game pushed back. The one time it happened (with all due respect and reverence for why it was pushed back), I can see now that Clash of the Titans left us drained in the second half of the SECCG.

Florida murdered LSU early in 2001.

we weren't drained, we lost due to coaching. Chavis didn't have the brain cells to put a spy on Mat Mauck. He ran up the middle on almost every play. Fulmer didn't have his guys focused on the game. Henderson and haynesworth talking trash to LSU during halftime didn't help either

We beat them by one score earlier in the year. Without Kelley, we don't.

we were up 26-7 late in the fourth, Kelley washington had 256 yards in the air. UT put in their 2-3 stringers and LSU made a run same thing happened with Cal in 06. Sometimes scores don't really tell the tale. The game was never close. LSU didn't even score it's 18th point until around the 3 min mark and then was shutdown by our starters.

Also we lose without Kelley is not a valid argument. He is part of our team which LSU couldn't stop. Same as Teabow to Florida
