Nico getting contacted by other P5 Schools?

View attachment 590456yes. VT is a school that is easy to get into.
Hooker- 206/302, 68.2%, 2945yds, 9.8avg, 31Td’s, 3int, 167 rushes, 620yds, 5TD’s. In 10 games started.

Braxton Burmeister- 142-255, 55.7%, 1960yds, 7.7avg, 14TD’s, 4int, 117rush, 521yds, 2TD’s in 12 games started.

Which QB would you rather off just based off these stats. It’s not even close. The coaching staff would have took Hooker back in a heart beat if Hooker would have called them and said he wanted to come back for his senior year.

They were haters because his 1st year stats was way better than anyone they had and he didn’t even start the 1st 2 games. Let’s compare what Tech had to Hooker in 2021:

Hooker- 206/302, 68.2%, 2945yds, 9.8avg, 31Td’s, 3int, 167 rushes, 620yds, 5TD’s. In 10 games started.

Yea the Tech fans where trolling hard if they thought the guy that replaced Hooker was better. Hooker was way better in every offensive metric and it wasn’t even close. The guy that replaced Hooker had 20 career TD’s and 14 interceptions. Hooker had more TD’s in his 1st year at UT than Braxton had for entire career.
So you don’t know what they were saying, but you think they were dumb for saying it.

I’m seeing a pattern with you

I know what I see, and my eyes see that Hooker had a better career his 1st year at UT as his replacement had in his entire career. But yet Tech fans wants us to believe that the replacement was better when the facts do not support it?

And why would we care? He knows he is the man next season. Transferring would only put him behind in learning a new offense. The only time we should worry is if HE is reaching out to other schools.
Exactly. If he wanted to go to USC or ND he could’ve done that last year. So now he’s going to waste a year of learning the offense and knowing that it’s his job next year so he can transfer a place he could’ve gone in the first place?

That’s a dumb rumor to even start.

You seem to struggle with the concept that things change over time. You also are missing some crucial information required for a proper decision in who should run Hypel’s offense.

Do you know what was said about the QBs after practice this week?

Of course you don’t, but you know who should be playing.

Awwww
The order taker can’t handle his/her world view being questioned and when it’s starts to crack he/she results to transference.

Classic
No I’m tired of saying the same thing over and over and it’s obvious you are biased to Milton no matter what. I have showed you the facts and the stats to back up everything I have said but yet you still say Milton is better. Even when presented with the facts you still think your son is better.

I refuse to believe that Milton is the best choice to run his offense. Milton is still taking too long to get the plays called, get the team lined up, and hangs onto the ball too long. That strip sack fumble he had, he held the ball for almost 5 seconds. Milton completion % and QBR is in the bottom half of the SEC. Every game I have watched this year wr have had to take time outs or take a delay of game due not getting the play call in, in time. I also think the play calling has been handicapped this year by Milton’s abilities to grasp what’s going fully. He’s 25 years old and in his 3rd year of the offense, and yet still make freshman mistakes.

No…..again you were obviously never in a command position.
I’ve clearly said over and over that Hooker grew into the job and deserved to be the starter. He would have taken the job either way. He’s going to be a successful NFL QB. When the season started Milton was the better QB. Milton will never be the QB that Hooker is now. But that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about a moment in time when everyone who was at practice and has forgotten more football than you’ll ever know was saying the same thing. Milton was the guy who should be starting.

You don’t know what was said and by who. Just like right now. You think Nico should be playing but have absolutely nothing to base that on.

You remember when Nathan Peterman was given the start?
Everyone around practice was saying the other guy was better. But coach listen to the mob and went with Peterman.

I can't imagine Arch staying past next spring if Maalik comes in and plays well in place of Ewers. I realize opinions are like "well you know the thing". That's just my opinion, that Arch won't stay at Texas if he's still 3rd string behind Ewers and Maalik post spring practice.
I agree in that depth chart scenario

So you don’t know and you’re just hoping the backup is better……like peterman.

You should really try following the practice reports. It’s been a pretty good week for those of us paying attention.
Where are you getting this week’s reports and what are you hearing?

And how do we know this? I have seen this mentioned several times by others. I do hope it is true.
This is my theory, Josh has seen a lot of QBs and he thinks Nico is not quite ready yet to be thrown into the SEC juggernaut especially on the road. I think they are going to save him and give him some time in the UConn game next week and the Vandy game. I expect to give him more situational game time to see his reaction maybe first series 2nd half, it will all be according to the score. He may be a gamer like Hendon better than seen in practice but already real time multiple ACC game action at VT. He might be a flop JG worse than seen in the best practice player ever. I think after seeing him through the Summer and Fall they think the 4 game RS route would be best and talked it over with his family. JMO.

Hooker was the better QB coming out of high school, while at Tech, and coming to UT. There was no growing into that position. Hooker showed he was the best QB as soon as he took over. I’m the Pitt game the team scored 4 TD’s with him in the game. With Milton in the game they scored 1 TD. He was the best and everyone seen it as soon as he hit the field when Milton got hurt.

I didn’t think anything from Peterman actually. And the practices this week have been closed and I know exactly what you know. And that’s what the coaching staff is telling you.

For those people that claim "Other teams start true freshman at QB with success"...name one.
Name me an NFL caliber, hell even an SEC caliber, QB that has started as a true Freshman in the last 30 years.

Manziel...nope - redshirt and had a year to learn Sumlin's offense.
Jared Goff...yep, started as a true freshman as an early enrollee - Cal went 1-11 and jared had 18 TD to 10 INTs with a sub 60% completion rate.
Matthew Stafford...yep, started as a true freshman as an early enrollee - UGA went 9-4 that year behind a stout running game. Stafford finished with 7 TDs and 13 INTs
Pat Mahomes...yep, started due to injury as QB2 - Tx Tech finished 4-8, good enough for 8th place in the Big 12

Granted all of those guys went on to have success at the college and NFL level, but I wouldn't call any of their freshman seasons a success.
Any others?
Trevor Lawrence at Clemson played as a freshmen. You never know what you have for sure until they play.

Where are you getting this week’s reports and what are you hearing?
She hearing the same thing everyone else. Heupel has come out and addressed how Nico is doing better and starting to come along nicely. This woman knows exactly what Heupel and staff has said. No media has been allowed at practice this week.

I know some people who know some people that robbed some people.
Snoop......😉

Oh really?
Interesting

Yes I saw the game footage
I saw who was the better QB
But unlike you I’ve paid attention to the coach and I know the definition of what he’s looking for in a QB.
Milton was better than Hooker when he started.
So which performance sold you on Milton? The Bowling Green game or the first half of Pitt? Which game in particular that Hooker got significant playing time did he look like an inferior quarterback compared to Milton?

Lol
Ok

I don’t care what was said. It was obvious who the better QB was in 2021 as soon as Hooker took the field in week 2 in the 2nd quarter. Anybody can say whatever they want, but what my eyes told me, was something different in 2021. If Hooker would have started the first 2 games he would have had 40 TD’s and over 3,000 yards passing.

Dude.
I’m not sold on Milton. At that time he had a better grasp of the offense. I’m calling BS on the narrative that Hypel either can’t tell who the better QB is or the even dumber stance, that he knew but played daddy ball instead. Hooker just didn’t know the offense the way Milton did.
Also callin BS on narrative that if Milton doesn’t get hurt then Hooker would not play. Hypel has never been afraid to switch Players before. He doesn’t have a man crush on Milton.

Here’s another thing that these guy don’t want to hear.
If Milton had gotten hurt we would likely have seen Gaston Moore play. I don’t think that’s true anymore but it was about a week ago imo.

So Nico is #2 on the depth chart and is gonna play the 3rd string QB? Sounds legit. Also Hooker had been on campus with Heupel 3 months longer than Milton had, and you think Milton picked up the offense faster? We still see Milton struggling getting plays called and getting lined up now, and you want us to believe he done it better in 2021?
