What games in 2021 did it look like to you that Milton was better than HH?
I personally said after the Pitt game he made a bad read at the end but for a guy that wasn't practicing with the starters and came into the game with no prep, I thought he looked great. I really didn't need VT fans to tell me what I could see. My guess is they were trying to make themselves feel better about hiring such a bad coach (who is now in year two of being an analyst at Indiana).

So specifically, which games in 2021 did it look like Milton was the better player?

It wasn't obvious to me that Milton was better at any time that season. I believe you're saying that early on he was better. Since it's not obvious to me, I'm asking you to point it out.

It's either true or not, so specifically, at what point In the 2021 season did it appear that Milton was the better QB?

You offered you opinions on what was obvious to you. Clearly Hypel had a different criteria on what was obvious to him. He clearly said so. And what he said matched what happened on the field.

Why did Hypel say Milton was the starter?
Why did Hypel say Hooker would remain the starter?

He wasn’t. It was “obvious” to everyone watching practice at that time who should be playing.
Hooker worked hard and earned everything he got.
There were legitimate concerns and criticisms early. He overcame them and his second season was awesome.

I have no idea what JH said two years ago, if you have the quotes handy then post them. So to clarify, you are or are not saying that you saw live game footage in 2021 where it looked like Milton was the better QB?

It’s pretty clear at this point why people are confused as to why Hypel plays who he plays.

Nah we got screwed. We all know forward momentum wasn’t stopped before the goal line. But when the offense puts up 45 points, you can’t say they didn’t do their part. 378, 5 TD’s 76 QBR and 0 turnovers. Hooker wasn’t to blame this day.

I do not. However his parents want him to develope so NICO has the best shot at his and their dreams. No matter how bad you want him to play I doubt you get your wish. Maybe a few series against Vandy and Uconn. It was never in the cards for Nico to be the guy this year unless serious injury to Milton. Beating a dead horse

I can't imagine Arch staying past next spring if Maalik comes in and plays well in place of Ewers. I realize opinions are like "well you know the thing". That's just my opinion, that Arch won't stay at Texas if he's still 3rd string behind Ewers and Maalik post spring practice.

If Hypel was in love with Milton he’d have put him back in over Hooker when Hooker developed. Then everyone watching practice said Hooker had developed into the better QB so that’s who played. Unlike CJP who took Tano out to put him back in over and over, Hypel goes with the best guy. Because Virginia Tech fans are dumb. He was better than anyone on their roster and his stats will show that. Prior to UT Hooker was averaging 9.3 yards per pass, and done scored 37 total TD’s. Milton had 9 total TD’s and 6 interceptions, yes real close.

After Milton got healthy, Heupel couldn’t go back to Milton. Could you imagine the **** storm or the noise if Heupel went back to Milton after the entire world seen both them play and it was obvious who the best QB was. Milton completed 48% against one of the worse teams in the country Bowling Green.

Yes I saw the game footage
I saw who was the better QB
But unlike you I’ve paid attention to the coach and I know the definition of what he’s looking for in a QB.
Milton was better than Hooker when he started.

He has a criteria that he’s following. You’d need to understand what he’s doing to understand why he does it.

We’ve got nfl QBs saying that his system is genius and it takes a long time to grasp it….but sure he’s just playing favorites with who he picks to run it.

They were haters because his 1st year stats was way better than anyone they had and he didn’t even start the 1st 2 games. Let’s compare what Tech had to Hooker in 2021:

Hooker- 206/302, 68.2%, 2945yds, 9.8avg, 31Td’s, 3int, 167 rushes, 620yds, 5TD’s. In 10 games started.

Braxton Burmeister- 142-255, 55.7%, 1960yds, 7.7avg, 14TD’s, 4int, 117rush, 521yds, 2TD’s in 12 games started.

Yea the Tech fans where trolling hard if they thought the guy that replaced Hooker was better. Hooker was way better in every offensive metric and it wasn’t even close. The guy that replaced Hooker had 20 career TD’s and 14 interceptions. Hooker had more TD’s in his 1st year at UT than Braxton had for entire career.
