I’m not a listener of Basilio, but I do pretty regularly peruse his blog just for fun and that comment is nowhere to be found. I would expect it to be in that “orange throat“ section at the very least. So did I read somewhere that this is not true and that said comments never happened? Troll job I guesss.
Another factor is the reputation of Hypels system. That's exactly the point. To say "no one wanted to come because we had Nico" is suspect for me because guys transfer/recruit into talented rooms constantly knowing there's competition.
If someone thinks they're either too good or not good enough to compete with Nico, I'm pretty sure we're better off without them. Competition for your spot true at all level of sports.
You're definitely right. We'll probably see this "I want to see the backup QB" issue on VN as long as Heupel's here because bad/slow reads really bog this offense down.Another factor is the reputation of Hypels system.
It takes time to learn it and is less plug in play as others. If you’re a one and done you’re not looking at Tennessee.
I don’t think VN has a choice. You're definitely right. We'll probably see this "I want to see the backup QB" issue on VN as long as Heupel's here because bad/slow reads really bog this offense down.
With patience, though, I think we'll see some exciting QBs developed at TN. Patience, though, isn't something VN has a lot of.
0 points in the second half is not a good game for the offense lead by Joe Milton. 1st half was good but disappeared in the second half.Nico isn't that great of a runner compared to Milton so I am not sure what others think he would have done to avoid the sack. That loss was on the defense not adjusting at all to Alabama's adjustments and idiotic penalties on offense that killed several drives. Milton played about as well as he could have for most of the game, the pick was bad but he also made several runs that saved drives
That game was a line of scrimmage game. Alabama’s DL won the second half and would have done so regardless of who our QB was. Look at our rushing total for the game.0 points in the second half is not a good game for the offense lead by Joe Milton. 1st half was good but disappeared in the second half.
I thought you knew about college football. Harrison Bailey was a 5 star QB. As I responded to you in another thread, you're deluded about yourself. You rarely can provide any details or nuance to your left hip posts. Bless your heartIf we lose the first five-star QB we have had in twenty years because our brilliant coach insists on playing a QB no other SEC team would even start, Heupel needs to go. That would be gross negligence of the highest order.
I've been saying this for weeks and I get downvoted! Looks like more are finally realizing that continuing to play Milton is suicide in more ways than one. What did everyone think what was gonna happen when he isn’t getting a chance over a QB that has a 61 QBR? There are teams that are willing to give him a chance if Heupel won’t.
And again, how do you know he’s not ready? He has got to throw 5 passes all season long. He should have played more than what he has and yet Heupel won’t put him in because he doesn’t want a QB controversy if he plays better. Remember Heupel also thought Hooker wasn’t ready and started Milton over Hooker also.

@lifeisdeep read this and you might learn somethingThis is exactly why you want Nico to sit for a year. Learn the offense. See the offense work in real time. Study game film. It's the same mindset that NFL teams have--if they can give a rookie QB time to sit behind a veteran, it's great for them. Now, we're working in a smaller window that NFL teams, but the fact remains: giving young players time to learn the system is more often better than the "sink or swim" method.
People here like to Ainge and Clausen as "proof" a Freshman is ready for SEC play but they forget that after Tee (and David Cutcliffe) left, our choices were very limited. This is exactly why you want Nico to sit for a year.
