Or MAYBE, i just like to watch the world burnFor the record, there is nothing on tonybasilio.com about this. I listened to his interview with John Adams of the KNS earlier ... and it wasn't discussed. If this was legit, I think it would be newsworthy. Notice how the OP acknowledges that he didn't hear Basilio talk about it himself. That is what a troll will do to cover themselves when they are busted.

Still trying ask why that matters unless the root is to diss Josh Heupel?Incorrect.. I disagreed with the poster that said HH looked worse than Milton when he first took over
Lawrence is a good one.
Ainge got knocked out and did not finish his freshman season. The argument could be made that starting too soon led to his addiction and derailed his career.
Casey Clausen took over 10/21/00 and got to cut his teeth on a very soft back-end schedule.
We didn't have to take a step back to the tune that we have. This season was never in the plan for Nico unless catastrophe happened. It hasn't so far knock on wood. We are still going to win more games than we lose and most objective people knew we were taking a step back. He will get snaps against Uconn and possibly Vandy if we kick their ass the way we should
You evidently have a reading comprehension problem. The post I replied to stated unequivocally that there had not been a true freshman quarterback succeed in the last thirty years - the poster didn’t qualify it by saying there had not been a true freshman succeed with less than perfect conditions; he said it hadn’t happened which was a wildly uninformed and ignorant statement. I corrected him. Learn how to read.
We didn't have to take a step back to the tune that we have.
Scoop and score wasnt on Milton. That was a blind side sack. Joe was not a big part of the loss. Get real.
Unfortunately, noone wanted to come because we have Nico. Thats straight from LWSWho would you suggest that Nico throw it to? Are we under the illusion that he is extremely elusive as a runner because he isn't so what step back offensively could have been prevented by starting Nico? CJH's mistake was not going to the portal and getting someone who could replace Milton while not getting Nico injured.
Ill have to go watch the film again, but during that strip sack, it looked like Joe had 2 WRs in the same area. For those of you who dont know what that means, It means a WR ran the wrong route.Nico isn't that great of a runner compared to Milton so I am not sure what others think he would have done to avoid the sack. That loss was on the defense not adjusting at all to Alabama's adjustments and idiotic penalties on offense that killed several drives. Milton played about as well as he could have for most of the game, the pick was bad but he also made several runs that saved drives
But if the teams from the PAC-12 move to the Big 10 they are taking their defenses with them
I didn't bring it up. Someone said HH looked like he was the lesser player early on. I disagree.Still trying ask why that matters unless the root is to diss Josh Heupel?
Why does it still matter how Hooker looked here? He's in the NFL now. It seems the entire conversation is just a way to suggest Heupel can't judge QBs or what is the point exactly?
I can agree with that. Just saying Milton has improved in 3 years here. It’s possible that the guy just isn’t capable of reaching his full potential but is still the best option available.
The good news is it looks like Hypel is good at recruiting QBs so if Nico Ivermectin (the savior) is a bust we have options.
Unfortunately, noone wanted to come because we have Nico. Thats straight from LWS
and portal was thin. Alabama couldn't get a decent QB from portal either and that is why they have Milroe.
Alabama has Milroe because they whiffed on Simpson and the other guy who were both 5 stars. Heck, Milroe was highly rated as well. He just isn't great at developing qb's. I would suspect that has more to do with it than Alabama fans would care to admit. Outside of Hurts, who probably received more development at Oklahoma than Alabama, and maybe Tua who can't stay healthy. He really hasn't developed anyone other than game managers at Bama.
I honestly think in a way, Milton showed what he can do against Clemson put this staff in a bind. Joe earned the start for 2023 because of his performance right? How do you sell that to a Grad Transfer that he may or maynot play in 2023. So now they are stuck with Milton and a freshman who isnt ready. I think thats where we are with the QB position. WRs is a different animal. We have WRs that have been in this system for 2 - 3 years now still running the wrong routes, they are dropping balls, not giving maximum effort. I expect a few of those guys to hit the portal running after the season. That's probably true but every fifth year senior knew they were a one year rental, I guess the only one that comes to mind that would have made a real difference was probably the qb from Wake Forest and may have had no interest coming to UT as opposed to ND. The mistake probably lies in thinking Milton could be a difference maker at qb but that probably lies in Heupel thinking two years of training would break his bad habits. He has definitely improved as a qb but he has a very low ceiling imho at least at the college level
Buckner transferred with the idea he was going to compete for the starting job. Arch is a incoming freshman. We are talking about portal guysTy Buckner transferred to Bama behind Milroe, a sophomore, and Ty Simpson, R-Freshman.
Arch went to TX behind Ewers and R-Fr Maalik Murphy.
Some really high ranked QBs step into much less than "sure thing" situations.
Honestly, Kiffin could get WAYYYY more out of Milroe than Saban could imo.Alabama has Milroe because they whiffed on Simpson and the other guy who were both 5 stars.
That's exactly the point. To say "no one wanted to come because we had Nico" is suspect for me because guys transfer/recruit into talented rooms constantly knowing there's competition.Buckner transferred with the idea he was going to compete for the starting job. Arch is a incoming freshman. We are talking about portal guys
No, you just can't read. Another poster made a false statement; I corrected him. He stated something false as though it were true and I pointed out his cavalier approach to the truth. Welcome to the list.I get it the internet is hard for a lot of people but a true freshman starting because others get injured is a necessity, not a choice because very few teams choose to start true freshman.
