You’re either a troll or very new to VN.
Those of us who’ve been here more than 5 minutes have seen the “5* backup is better “ thing before.
Let me tell you how this ends.
BTW your Hooker narrative is Bull **** too
Been a member since 2014. Don’t think that would classify as being new. Explain how my Hooker narrative is BS, please do. Everything I said about Hooker was 100% accurate. Also I understand the 5* thing also. But the knife also cuts both ways as plenty of freshman QB have had success. We are not 5-2 because of Milton, so don’t act like he is the reason for that. But I am eager to hear how what I said about Hooker is wrong.
Hooker committed under Pruitt. Heupel is hired and Hooker stayed committed and enrolled before Heupel was hired. After Huepel gets to UT he still doesn’t believe Hooker is the man and he goes out and gets Milton 3 months later.
Hooker transferred to UT January 7, 2021.
Milton transferred to UT April 26, 2021.
Heupel is hired January 27th, 2021
Milton comes 3 months after Hooker and Huepel but yet Milton beats Hooker out in practice for the starting job. We was all led to believe that Hooker “just wasn’t ready” and that Milton was ahead of him on everything. We was also led to believe that it really wasn’t that close in practice.
Now fall camp 2021 is over and Milton is the starting quarterback opening the season at home against Bowling Green.
Milton vs Hooker stats to start season:
Bowling Green- 11/23, 47.8%,139yds, 6.0 avg, 1TD, 46 QBR. 14 rushes 44yds, 3.1 avg, 2TD’s, Win 39-6
@Pitt- 7/12, 58%, 55yds, 5.0 avg, 75.4QBR, 5 rush 54yds, 10.4Avg, 1 fumble. Get hurt 2nd quarter down 14-13. Lost 41-34. Team only scored 1 TD with Milton in game.
@Pitt- 15/21, 71.4%, 188yds, 9.0avg, 2TD’s, 1int, 75.4QBR. 9 rush 49yds, 5.4yds. Enters game down 17-13 in 2nd quarter and ended up losing 41-34
TNTC- 17/25, 68%, 199yds, 8.0avg, 3TD’s, 65.2QBR. 9 rush 64yds, 7.1avg, 1TD
As you see through the same amount of games and each playing a game at home, Hooker was by far the best QB and numbers don’t lie. Milton was averaging 6yds a pass then and he is still doing it. When Milton went out of the Pitt game they had only scored 1 TD. Hooker comes in and they score 4 TD’s.
If Milton did not get hurt Hooker wouldn’t have got his chance when he did. Point blank.
