Nightmare Scenario

Did you see the part in the OP where I clearly stated I wasn’t attempting to list them in order?
No, I overlooked that .... but it's a dumb list anyway. I haven't seen anybody that's leaving Tennessee out. Texas A&M is getting boatraced. Your primary point will soon be moot.

I made this post either before the game started or early first quarter, I don’t remember the exact time.

A&M wins the SEC
Miami doesn’t fall below us after their loss
Texas stays ahead of us despite their loss
Oh State wins the Big 10

1. Oh St
2. Texas A&M
3. SMU
4. Boise
5. Az State
6. Penn State
7. Indiana
8. Miami
9. Georgia
10. Texas
11. Notre Dame
12. Oregon

I’m not saying that will be the order (haven’t taken the time to think about the exact order), only saying there’s a chance we could be left out if those things happen
This is a bridge too far...even for me.

lol which part? The only part I’ve moved away from is Indiana jumping us and obviously Oh State can’t win it but Penn State can. Either is bad because it’s another team ahead of us.

I have to wonder if the committee will allow a pair of 3 loss SEC teams in if uga loses to tex in the SECCG. I find it hard to believe they would let a 3 loss bama in if uga also has 3 losses. I think it would be a bad look for the selection suits.

In the scenario the OP is thinking of , Az state, Boise, SMU, Tex AM, and the Big 10 champ would all be automatic bids with the 4 highest ranked having 1st round byes. That is 5 teams. Guaranteed the loser of Oregon/PennSt is in making 6 teams. Notre Dame makes 7. UGA makes 8. So then the question would be would we be the team left out between IU, Texas, Ohio St, Miami and UT. Don’t say there is no way because clearly there is. The voters love Texas. They love OSU. I don’t think it will happen but it is not out of the realm of possibility if Texas AM were to win the SEC.

How does Oregon finish 12th? Miami won't be ahead of Tennessee. That is an absolutely ridiculous list.

.... and Texas A&M is not going to beat Texas.
If A&M wins the SEC, we could be the team bumped out. I’m giving a list of 12 teams that could be in instead of us
ACC only getting 1 team in when SMU knocks off Clemson. Stop looking at names and look at this way.

Big 10 champ
SEC Champ
Boise st
Big 12 champ
Notre Dame
Big 10 championship loser
SEC championship loser
Tennessee
Ohio st
Indiana
ACC champ
At large

Us and Indiana now will not be jumped by any other at large

Now that I’m sobering up, I think you’re right

My liver gave its all for Tennessee today

Ohio State can't win the B10, Miami is falling below us.

Solid. Can you name the flaw? I’ll wait

Brand goes a long way in rankings.

I don’t think playoff rankings are concerned with NIL.
I will take a stab at your question and then show you the level of your absurdity in the two subsequent posts.

1. The flaw is your logic, especially when OSU is out of the Big10 Championship game and probably on the bubble now that they lost to a very underwhelming Michigan team. Plus, Miami lost as well. Those two factors alone put Tennessee into the playoffs. 100% - I will say it even though the betting statistics have it at 97.6% or something like that.

2. So you think brand has something to do with rankings but NIL don't? Again, flawed logic. Brand has ZERO to do with rankings and so does NIL. Those are measurables for popularity and university spending. Neither equate to Wins/Losses. Buying the best players through NIL definitely improves your chances, but that is all it does.

All that being said, I am never surprised at the stupidity that gets introduced when the committees are trying to rank and seed any team. The process itself is flawed (which I think is the likely point of your post) but the likelihood Tennessee is not in is very small and they have a better than average chance at hosting at least one game.

Ohio State should most definitely drop behind us if the committee is being consistent and fair. Number 1Georgia lost to Mississippi and dropped to 12. Ohio St lost to a much lower ranked team than Georgia did. They should at least drop to at least 10 in my opinion after what they did to Georgia. GBO

Why would Boise State go in over ACC Champ?

Honestly, I don't get Boise State or the hype around their RB. Their schedule is a joke. Their entire claim to fame is we kept the game close against Oregon in week 2.

I don't understand any of your logic. However, I will go on record to say that a rematch with Georgia would be fantastic.

The logic was that A&M could have been in if they won. Miami and Ohio State may not fall below us.

Only loss is to at Oregon 37-34. Plus they would kick the $h!t out of any ACC team.
