No Felony Charges against Smith or Williams

What a shocker.

I would've kicked them all off the team. Something has got to be done about our image because it doesn't look good currently on the national level.

Wait til we play on the road in the SEC. It is going to get brutal.

Because you are dealing with Knoxville PD. They will let any player for UT off the hook. If you or I were riding around smoking weed, drinking, carrying an illegal firearm, we would be getting a 2-5 year prison sentence. That you can bet your ass on.

If that was true they wouldn't have been arrested in the first place and Richardson would have been returning punts yesterday.

I like how everyone jumps to the conclusion that somehow they got reduced charges because they were athletes. I don't condone legal weapons or drugs but let the justice system work before we throw the boys out or accuse the cops of cheating. Sometimes being high profile athlete hurts you and something a non athlete would have gotten a ticket for an athlete gets much more. Ask Plaxico burress.

the punishment had nothing to do with plaxico being a star athlete. its a New York law. local attorneys even have said if the same crime was done in another state he would have just got probation. Plaxico was offered a plea deal less than he got but he thought he would get off completely. he lost that gamble

Oh and if was our first offense and there was no proof the weapon was mine I would get a misdemeanor charge of possession and open container ( or similar) and be done. I am just saying let's wait for the facts to determne who should go and stay. I am not sayng noone should be suspended or that everyone should, but let's get facts.

Oh no - Don't say that! You're obviously not a true Vol fan if you think there should be disciplinary action for this. You're obviously not a Vol fan if you think they should be kicked off the team! *sarcasm implied*

Some of the people on this board somehow don't understand that we have a slant against us in the media already. This is the LAST thing we need.

Thanks Geezzz for making another thread on this topic, you make me proud.

Thanks. I am so glad to be apart of this. Let me just say something. Stop it guys. Quit saying speech. I am going to say something.:worship:

I would like to thank the University of Tennessee athletic programs for making this thread happen. I know I might leave some out, but it it were not for the Tennessee football players in their failed attempt to commit armed robbery, countless UT players who seem to always get arrested, our coaches for making an ass of themselves and getting 7 ncaa violations in 1 year and a looming recruiting investigation, and these 4 whippersnapper knuckleheads drinking, drugin, and carrying illegal firearms, this thread would not have been possible. :peace2:

Sounds like the majority think if you screw up you don't get a second chance. WRONG! If you screw up and learn from your mistake then you deserve a second chance.....if not get OUT and don't let the door hit your behind! I agree let the justice system sort this out and I am sure drug testing will be mandatory here as it should be for everyone on the team not just those who get into trouble and then the trouble might go away. I for one am going to wait and see what plays out before I put in my 2 cents.

My point wasn't that we cut anyone that falls below your IQ, which is obviously high. Only that we cut people too stupid to drive around our city with illegally acquired handguns the day after their biggest win of the season. Its apparent from their play all season they would rather be smoking weed than doing anything relevant in the tournament this year anyway, so we are better off without them. I'm just tired of watching people with great talent act like morons.

Why are we not fans if we expect our players to follow the same rules we have to follow?

I would have no problem with Pearl requiring all four to take a drug test and dismissing them if they fail it as opposed to dismissing them for misdemeanor firearm charges.

Pot adversely impacts your health and ability as an athlete. Failing to properly store a firearm in an automobile is punishable, but not by dismissal. In my mind, it is akin to driving without a license. Smoking pot is like refusing to work-out.

You're right. I left out calling other coaches cheaters when if fact they were doing nothing wrong and you were about to run smack dab in the middle of a recruiting prostitution scandal.

Again, I cannot remember everyone or everything that made this possible, but thank you:peace2:
