"Boy" Scouting won't be for all girls for many it will be a great way to learn values, give back to their community and develop skills. Scouting ultimately is fun with a purpose.

It's bizarre, (perhaps it shouldn't be)to see a group of people who are usually yapping about the moral decay of our society poo-poo on half of our population having an opportunity to learn what it means to be a good citizen.

Mormons to end long association with Boy Scouts of America | Fox News

The Mormon church announced Tuesday it will sever a more than century-old tie with the Boy Scouts of America and transfer its remaining 425,000 boys in the program into a gospel-focused youth group it is developing.

After the official separaration, slated for Dec. 31, 2019, the Mormon church will create its own gospel-based youth program, FOX 13 reported.

In a statement the church said its new youth program will "help all girls and boys, young women and young men discover their eternal identity, build character and resilience, develop life skills and fulfill their divine roles as daughters and sons of God."

I would say the main motivation was more innocent and smarter than that, though I think the gay leader thing was a catalyst for thinking of a smarter solution for the church.

The Mormon church is a global church with more members outside the US than within it. The BSA is a national organization and is not an adequate youth program for a global church that is trying to be more inclusive.

I don't think you understood what I was saying. I'm telling you that the Mormon church is attempting to be more inclusive with regard to their global members. That literally has nothing to do with my opinions about social justice.

It's like you hear the word "inclusive" and you're immediately triggered beyond reason.

What’s not inclusive about the Boy Scouts? Why would people from other countries care if they’re affiliated with the Boy Scouts? Are the Girl Scouts some bad thing now?
