No More "Boy" Scouts

Well that is just some batsh!t crazy stuff right there.

Nobody was, but Lincoln was pretty anti-religion.

Believe it or not, there is a Biblical basis for it, obviously subject to interpretation. Baptism by proxy reconciles the idea that Jesus saves and the fact that not everybody gets a chance to accept Jesus.

Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? - Corinthians 15:29

Oh, so all these touchy feely liberal laws that affect every other facet of America don't apply there. Gotcha.

Condoms must now be made available to 'all participants' at the Boy Scouts global gathering as girls are permitted to join the organization

The Boy Scouts will ensure that condoms will be made 'readily and easily accessible' at its global gathering this summer, it has been revealed.

Rules now require that the host organization of the World Scout Jamboree provide condoms at a 'number of locations' for staff and participants during the event.

Leaders of the participating organizations must also communicate the policy to their 'participants, unit leaders, and contingent staff', the mandate requires.

The 24th World Scout Jamboree will be held in the mountains of West Virginia from July 21 to August 1, 2019.

Sensationalist headline meant to pile on?

"The condom mandate was actually made in 2016, following the 2015 World Jamboree in Japan."

So four years later is "now?"

At any rate, it's smart - when boys and girls, men and women get together in large numbers. Knowing what I know, the real need for condoms is between the adult volunteers. Metric fuqtons of Scout moms looking for a man.

can't help but read FP's article as if "condoms" were pronounced "condams" like in the Shoes video.

I went through the scouting system... Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers... made Eagle Scout. Was so proud to have my Eagle Scout certificate signed by JFK. I absolutely loved every moment of those experiences. Hikes, Jamborees. winter camping, skills development through merit badges... growing up learning what responsibility means. Perfect system was in place.... seems like that is gone now... WHY? Inclusion I suppose is a priority these days.

I did the Girl Scouts and when I had enough arts and crafts bs at the age of 11 I quit. They really taught us nothing sustainable.
WW III happens don’t depend on the gs unless you want to live on cookies.

So inclusion is mutually exclusive with those values you learned?

I don't get people dancing on the grave of the BSA. The BSA isn't having problems because of these recent decisions everybody is so butthurt about. These decisions were desperate reactions to their existing problems.

So the BSA helped raise all of us and we're turning our backs/spitting on them in their time of need. Maybe we never actually learned those values in the first place. "A scout is loyal...."

I'm pretty sure one is capable of surviving indefinitely on those Tagalong cookies.

I'd be willing to test that theory...

I learned to shoot a rifle in Scouts. I was fortunate enough to grow up close to Wildcat Hollow which was a regional Boy Scout camp in Kentucky. The rifle range there was awesome. We learned camping and survival skills. Like you said... merit badges were a great learning vehicle as well. My biggest regret was that I didn't make Eagle.

And now the leftists moved in. I wouldn't be surprised if the Order of the Arrow wasn't banned now as well.

Hopefully some billionaire will take it private and go back to the original tenets of the organization.

Well it’s not the BSA anymore. The fact that they aren’t getting support is a direct result of recent events whether you choose to believe it or not.

I remember the Boy Scouts fondly from my youth. The weekend camp outs in the winter months were my favorite things but there were also 2 week long summer camps and jamborees.
It's sad that kids now days don't really participate in these outdoors kind of groups much anymore.

How can anyone turn their back on an organization that doesn't exist anymore? They were the BOY scouts of America. And yes, it would seem that "inclusiveness" is mutually exclusive to the system she referenced, since it was a split system of boys with boys and girls with girls.

"Well technically..."

What would we do without you correcting me for mislabeling the current BSA and confusing the defense of Trump fanboys and the defense of Trump? Thank you for your contributions to VN.

Is NEvolfan a lady? I think you might be confused about the context of my post.

Actually, you completely missed the point.

And I have no idea. Without knowing, should I have inferred "he" instead? Or "them"? Or "xi"? Which would make you more comfortable to the points I made, and you seem to have missed?
