Well you sound annoyed just saying. Look it doesn’t matter how long something has been named. If its wrong its wrong doesn't matter if we didn't think it was wrong then. Have you ever did something or created something and regretted it 5-10 years later? It happens. Folks didn't understand back then now they do and are taking action. Why be upset about it? If Neyland goes down cause of it oh well. Tennessee has a rich history of excellence we can just name the stadium after something else. People hate change I hate it too but if its for the right cause I understand. Your an intelligent man Ive enjoyed you on VN for years hope you understand my POV.
And white people bought them. The more you know.
Without the buyer there would be no market. It's really silly to compare people to food and shoes.Interesting....Who is "more" wrong, the buyer or the seller?
People get mad at McDonald's for making people fat but it's fat-shaming to blame the people buying from McDonald's. People get mad at Nike for its use of slave labor but no one gets mad at retailers or consumers for buying Nike products?

But see, what’s happening now is far beyond taking down things that have outraged people due to the symbolism. Who has ever said a word about about Rupp arena previously? I haven’t heard it before but maybe people have been protesting to rename it for years and I never knew it. I’ve also never heard anyone speak about George Washington owning slaves before recently yet his statues are now being torn down. To my knowledge they’ve never been a problem before. Now what’s happening is people are looking back for any ties whatsoever to potential slavery, not even caring if it’s true or not, and then screeching for the statues to be torn down and names to be changed. And what exactly will it accomplish if Rupp Arena is changed to a different name? Since we’re going back through history I guess we can back and look at anyone who has Irish blood, is Jewish, or any other nationality that has had people enslaved before and do the same. The thing is, if you dig hard enough you can find some kind dirt on pretty much anyone so I guess we should never use people’s names for anything. Honor no one. Maybe instead of worrying about trying to rename everything we can work on how exactly to improve policing across the country. There’s a lot of people in this nation that don’t actually want problems solved though because then you don’t need them as much. They’re called politicians.I have no clue I'm not a Kentucky fan but im tired of Folks b****** cause they are changing team names and arenas. America shouldnt honor any leader or memorial that hate a specific group of ppl that live in this country.
How are these facility names important when the kids complaining about slavery put on uniforms made by Nike who utilizes slave labor in China to make the uniforms. Same for Apple. That is about hypocritical as it gets.
