No QB in this class as of right now....

Looking at the top 12 pro style QBs, there are some possibilities:

12. Josh Nunes-originally committed to UT but switched to Stanford. Harbaugh will be gone soon. Nunes may leave as well. Kiff likes California QBs as well.

10. Zach Mettenberger/3. Aaron Murray-both committed to UGA who has taken a good QB in seemingly the last 5 classes. One may leave for early PT.

9. Ryan Mossakowski-better chance to get to the league: playing under Kiffin or playing under Brooks?

5. Tom Savage-committed to Rutgers but was originally looking hard at UT. You can bet that Stokes is in his ear to get him to look at us.

The others seem to be in a good position to stick.

11. Bryn Renner-committed to UNC. They are improving and Butch is an excellent recruiter.

8. Andrew Maxwell-committed to Michigan State. It's in his backyard and he could play early.

11. Allan Bridgford-committed to Cal. Same situation as Maxwell.

6. AJ McCarron-committed to Bama. See above.

4. Richard Brehaut-committed to UCLA. See above.

2. Garrett Gilbert-committed to Texas. See above.

1. Matt Barkley-committed to USC. See above.

Here are your choices Savage:

1. Rutgers Stadium - In January 2008, The Board of Governors of Rutgers University announced a $102 million stadium expansion project, which will increase the stadium’s seating capacity to nearly 56,000

2. Neyland Stadium - The addition of the West Club and Tennessee Terrace are primary funding sources for the estimated $72 million Phase III renovations....... A CAPACITY REDUCTION TO 101K!!!

I'd rather have Savage than Nunes as well. I just don't know if we can pull him, though I think Nunes could be turned.

I hope we get Savage, but he seems like a firm commit to Rutgers. Although stranger things have happened.

And, Rutgers just fired their AD.

Rutgers fires athletic director Robert Mulcahy - Breaking News From New Jersey - NJ.com

It's a dead end. Come to Knoxville, Savage!:hi:

I think that Fulmer had more to do with Savage looking elsewhere. I am beginning to realize that I was wrong about Fulmer and recruiting/closing the deal. He was good at that 4-7 years ago.

I guess it's possible he could be looking at a different DT QB or a sleeper PS QB but he seems to be dead set on a pro style and he doesn't settle for mediocre prospects.

mr. savage,

hmmmm...A rutgers scarlet knight sounds like a program missing its man jewels, lacking taters, or absent of the golden stones. UT...were hung like chewbacca.

Hell, bring on Murray and Savage, though Murray is somewhat short and seems to be just as much of a dual threat as Boyd.

I think if CLK doesn't think the guy is clearly superior to BJ (who's not that bad), he won't offer a QB this year.

and he's darn sure not afraid to tell them! In all seriousness, you gotta respect his honesty.... He is a straight shooter with these kids and it will pay huge dividends down the road!! Kids will TRUST him........ unlike Saban.

Yeah but, like I said, it isn't a good idea to go 2 straight classes with no QBs. We've tried that before and not too many times will you have the success that Ainge/Schaeffer had as FR. Kiffin isn't stupid. Also, it was mentioned that he has better QBs on his list.

He's certainly drawing that stark contrast as clearly as possible. The freaks out there won't miss that message long.

Based on what you posted about Murray's style, that would strongly favor Savage and/or Nunes.

That's what's exciting, the anticipation of who it could be!

And for us (fans) to have someone we realistically believe will pull something off!!!

Thats what I've been sayin since the Murray rumors started.

You know Kiffin has some old pipelines to CA, I would be suprised to see a CA boy, that we haven't really heard of, come into the lime light.

I think it'll be one of these two as well.

Murray is too good to be another number in UGA's lineup and Savage can do better than Rutgers. Their time in the limelight ended a year ago.

Exactly, and I wouldn't put it past somebody transferring. Say Stephens transfers, we'll have Coleman and some freshman in 2010.
