For instance, he knew about murray and metterberger which is more than most uga fans know... but he also thinks that massaquoi was the best WR in the SEC this year and that UGA should be a favorite in the east regardless of whether or not they keep moreno and stafford.

he claims king and cox will be better next year than stafford and moreno this year.

as far as this goes though, he sounded like he knew what he was talking about. he also claimed murray was their best 'recruiting recruit' calling all the other guys uga was after.

The same Joe Cox that has been there longer than Stafford. You're right, he is full of it.

95% of UGA fans are like this. Things go well but best players might leave? It's ok, their backups are better. That's what happens when 99% of your fan base never went to UGA, let alone a college at all.

Georgia is in good shape for some other highly-ranked prospects. Tampa Plant athlete Orson Charles will visit Georgia in mid-January after his teammate and friend – and Bulldogs quarterback commitment – Aaron Murray enrolls. Charles hasn't narrowed his list of schools but most feel that it will either be Georgia or one of Florida's powers that get his signature on National Signing Day.

That does not sound very promising with Murray.

Good news is it wont take long to find out since he is apparently an EE...

Here's another possibility. He's the #11 ranked QB this year. He's committed to Mississippi St., but doesn't seem like a good fit for Mullen's system because he isn't really a mobile type.

Scout.com: Tyler Russell Profile

He would fit Kiffin's QB "type" IMO. Says he has good accuracy and nice touch on the deep ball. If he gets bigger he could be a nice QB.

I'm sure a guy that touted himself as a recruiting coordinator has soemthing working that we know nothing about. Be patient my friends, be patient and let the man work!

OH my.. 1st Boyd now Petty.... I know he is a football coach and I'm not, but I don't get it... I thought Boyd was a bone head decision, but got over it.. Now I am starting to wonder if he is just a bone head in general.... I hope he does have an ace up his sleeve then I will understand, I will go with the bone head thing for sure if he doesn't have anyone.. Come on Kiffin drop us line to let us know what is going on.......

I have faith that he knows what he is doing. Why recruit a guy that will sit on your bench? Were any of us truly excited about Petty?

Question for the board.

You are a new coach who hopes to recruit nationally for your tenure at a new University. What will help your cause?
a) signing athletes that may never gel with your staff, get disgruntled, go the the local papers/talk to recruits about not getting a fair shot at UT
or
b) Telling recruits they are welcome to come, but may not fit your system, but I will do everything I can to get your tape to other coaches?

Kiffin may make some recruiting mistakes as he goes along. IMO this is not one of them. It is a part of the culture shift as I see it.

Wow I was really hoping we could find a way to rid us of Petty. Great news and even better if we can pull a name mentioned in some previous posts. Should be interesting to watch.

I think he has a QB in mind for UT and he is confident enough to let 2 QB's go when other coaches would just stock pile QB's of the roster.

I don't think he has anyone lined up. And I am totally fine with that. I believe he just doesn't think the guys available are an upgrade so he will just wait til next year to get his guy.

I would rather have people that fit our system and give us a chance to win rather than have someone here based on accolades alone.

:ermm: No, but it did require that you read about dozen posts above the one you made about 'if he comes to UT.'

If it takes an MBA to take a fragment of a sentence, extract it, change the meaning, and take it out of context, then you have earned exactly what most people know as a worthless degree scribbled on little more than toilet paper.......

Petty has pulled his pledge according to Scout. Will wait for confirmation from Brent and Co., but Scout is reporting that Petty is off the table.

Scout.com: Texas QB Pulls Pledge to Vols

Scout.com: Texas QB Pulls Pledge to Vols

"Lane Kiffin made a clean sweep of UT’s quarterback commitments tonight when he sent word to Bryce Petty of Midlothian, Texas, telling the nation’s No. 31 ranked QB prospect he didn’t fit the Vols new pro-style system."

If he comes to UT, he will ride the pine for 5 years.......

Here's your post in a thread that started with the two above it... and you feel I've distorted something here?

I've never claimed to have an MBA on this board, but instead have explained more than a dozen times that in my username, MBA stands for 'my best athlete' who at the time wore the number 93 (the X-man).

Now, you've insulted everyone here who does have an MBA in an effort to advance a personal attack against me. All I did was point out what was obvious to everyone else posting in the thread at the time. Sorry you took offense to that.

Making a dumb post is one thing, but then spending all this wasted energy to defend it indicates you have a deeper intellectual challenge than I realized when I posted the obvious, and, moreover you have a personal accountability problem. Man up.
