Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Now, hopefully UT starts playing Holl at the 5 spot predominately, she is your best post player, breakout candidate for next season as an All SEC type. She has a huge ceiling and looks to be just getting started in her growth. Good stuff.

She's caught on in a hurry. Good showing vs. Jessika Carter, who is probably the best post player in the SEC that isn't on SC's team.. Hollingshead has a very nice face up game in particular. Very nice looking stroke.

I really don't want to see Striplin starting again, but I have my suspicions. Kellie said that she likes starting with Karolin to tire out the opposing team's center. Somehow, I'm guessing that won't work when SC comes to town...

Just start Holl and give your team the best chance for a great start…Holl is better than most realize, she can be great, what an exciting young player. I love her game already.

Marquette has had chances to choke, but they are still holding the lead!

They beat Texas and Gonzaga earlier this year, so they can't be all THAT bad...

Marquette's been missing their starter Liza Karlen for a long while now, though they had her in those Texas and Gonzaga wins, and it seems tonight is her first night back. She's 3rd on the team in scoring, 2nd in rebounding, and 1st in blocks. I'm sure it helps having her back tonight (even if she's 1-10 shooting right now...).

They are not very good either….Uconn has a hangover but will finish this game….they are a tired group, need some players to get back.

She is making a diff on the boards…good catch Travis

I suspect they just don’t spend any time game planning or preparing for most of their conference games.

Part of the reason I do not think we should continue to play them. Especially not during the SEC season. Where we have an opponent almost every night that we have to game plan and prepare for, they can spend weeks at a time preparing for our matchup and the matchup against South Carolina.

My Dear Geno, did Marquette play dirty physical on ur team.. Uconn always try to play their best when they hear that name Lady vols..even if they're dying.

Am I the only one who gets the vibe that Geno is gonna retire soon? He looks incredibly burned out these days

My hunch is he gives it one last go next year with Paige and Fudd back (healthy hopefully for them) and if he can't get it done then he calls it a career.

I do have to say, it takes a lot of work to coach at this level and you see many college greats lose their magic touch at some point in their career towards the end especially when they get older.
