Czinano was largely a non factor. 6’3 Olivia Cochran dominated that matchup. And she’s JV compared to what SC will bring to the post.Plus SC is very good at switching and fighting over screens, and there is no way Dawn is let Marshall and others rain down 3`s. And to note remember SC is a much different team than Louisville. 6-2 6-3 Czinano was able to have her way with louisville post players that will not happen at all against SC. Then the question is how do Iowa defend SC ?
Transition game will be dependent on getting defensive rebounds or forcing turnovers. The first will be tough because of how well SC rebounds their own misses. Iowa will need to find a way to get SC to cough the ball up to get their running game going. I do have to credit SC's bigs for how well they run the floor, though. I think that they have the kind of speed/size that can limit Iowa's fast-break points much more than Louisville was able to last night.
I actually hope that is the finals that would only enhance the women’s game and the ratings would go through the roof and no doubt beat the men’s finals by at least 2 to 1 in viewershipMan idk. She’s another level player. Everyone who has underestimated her in her career has ended up looking the fool. She can flat play basketball.
She’s the best skills player and shooter I have ever seen in the women’s game. Ever. No comparison with Sue Bird or even Ionescu. She’s light years ahead of both.
Useless Trivia :
The last time that Iowa won an Elite 8 game was on their home floor against Tennessee in 1993. Even though Tennessee was the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament that year, we still had to play a regional final on an opponent's home court. Iowa got every call imaginable in that game, including a charge against Tiffany Woosley, which would lead to a rare Pat Summitt technical foul call.
I would contend that Chamique Holdsclaw carried the 1997 Lady Vols to the National Championship as well .. although, it may not have come with as much of an explosion of points. She single-handedly beat UConn in the Elite 8 (which was also played in Iowa). UConn had no answer for her. It's interesting you bring up that 1993 postseason. M. Voepel had an interesting point about Sheryl Swoopes' run to the title that year, culminating with a 47 point game in a championship game win over Katie Smith's Ohio State, how one player basically carried the team to a title with the most dominant individual performance in women's tournament history and we haven't seen anything like it since... until now, 30 years later with Caitlin Clark.
Clark is a more complete player than Bueckers. She's the current best in college. In recent years, I believe Ionescu and Stewart would be strong contenders. You don't win multiple titles and MVP's without being elite among the elite.
I really enjoy watching Clark play and argued that she was better than Bueckers when they were freshmen, but being the centerpiece of championships is a strong argument. It's what has kept Maravich out of serious GOAT consideration despite the fact that he could do things with the ball not seen before or since. A scoring machine and most entertaining player ever.

Tiffani Johnson also played well but .... we will just have to agree to disagree. Holdsclaw carried that '97 team.I disagree, Tennessee scored 91 points against UConn, only 21 of those came from Chamique. Kellie was awesome in that game, scoring 19, and it was a great team win.
There are lots of great individual performances from title teams we could point to - Chamique, Parker, Taurasi, Stewart, etc., but no player has ever single-handedly carried her team to a title like Swoopes IMO...
Taurasi that played for UConn came to mind. She could flat out shoot with a quick trigger.Man idk. She’s another level player. Everyone who has underestimated her in her career has ended up looking the fool. She can flat play basketball.

I wasn't just referring to that one game ... Holdsclaw had that team on her back. And Pashen Thompson, and Abby Conklin. And hell, I remember even Misty Greene hit a couple of big shots. Like I said, TEAM win...
