As good as I thought Bueckers is (and I think she's really, really good), I think Clark is actually even better. She was just unreal yesterday. The way she was sizing up her defender (not matter if they were tall or short), and then just breaking down their defense was brilliant.Agree. When a generational talent is locked in like that, sometimes all you can do is tip your cap...

Yup, I'm with you on that one. I think Boston is the best 2-way player in the country, but Clark's offensive skills put her at the top of my "best player" list.I've been a staunch believer of Boston as game's best player, but not anymore. Clark is the best player in women's college basketball this season...
I agree with you, & if SC gets by Maryland tonight I believe Dawn knows that. There's no stopping Clark. I'm not sure Dawn would even try & "stop" her straight up. It would be a waisted effort, even for a great defender like Beal. It may be best to lock down everyone else, let Clark go for her 30 points, & live with the result. As good as I thought Bueckers is (and I think she's really, really good), I think Clark is actually even better. Georgia had a good plan & nearly came away with the upset win. I'm going to go back & watch that game to see how they defended her.
Please if she’s see SC she gon realize that’s another level of a team
The difference between Louisville and SC is that SC doesn't need to double Czinano or Clark. And then there are all those offensive rebounds. Won't be a pretty game, but Iowa isn't scoring 80 or even 70 points. SC will have to put up more points than they have been and if they can't do that, then they weren't ready. As I was watching that Iowa vs Louisville game last night & seeing 1st hand how good Clark is when she's dialed in, I covered my mouth & said to myself 'SC is in trouble..' LOL
If they want to stop Clark, they will probably have to double her. But you're absolutely right in that they don't have to double Czinano. She'll probably quickly get in foul trouble or will be reduced to a bystander, especially when the Twin Towers lineup comes in.The difference between Louisville and SC is that SC doesn't need to double Czinano or Clark. I think that Iowa's chances of winning depends on the ability of the other players on the court being able to score against SC's defense when they're single covering everyone, not Clark going off for 40.
Transition game will be dependent on getting defensive rebounds or forcing turnovers. The first will be tough because of how well SC rebounds their own misses. Iowa will need to find a way to get SC to cough the ball up to get their running game going. I do have to credit SC's bigs for how well they run the floor, though. I think that they have the kind of speed/size that can limit Iowa's fast-break points much more than Louisville was able to last night.Iowa transition game is very very good. Marshall, Warnock and Affolter when she comes in all run the floor hard, shoot well and finish well. They play great as a unit. I think that twin towers lineup may not be very effective against Iowa for that reason. Clark is such a dangerous passer even from the backcourt. You have to get your butt back and protect the rim or they are getting an open layup.
Martin is really the only player you can afford to leave open very much and even she is a serviceable shooter. She’s out there for her defense primarily.
I don't think they can stop her, but they can contain her. I would play her straight up in the first half, then tighten the screws with traps in the second. She does a really good job at pacing herself and likes to go off in the second half...most nights. Also, put her in pick and rolls and make her have to play defense. And yea...Czinano is in for a long night...on both ends. On the other hand, SC can't afford 15 point quarters and they need to shoot a respectable percentage of outside shots. I expect until they do, Iowa will go zone. I don't expect a blowout. SC by 8-10 points would be my guess. If they want to stop Clark, they will probably have to double her. UGA did a great job keeping her out of that lower defensive box which they always do. That’s Coach Abe’s main goal. She’s mostly gonna make you beat them from 10’ out.
Clark had 6 field goals and 4 were 3s. Normally she’d have a few more layups but UGA is very tough to score on in the paint. Just like South Carolina, but for different reasons.
UGA couldn’t keep track of Marshall in that game and she was hot. They were selectively guarding her to throw 1.5-3 defenders at Clark and Marshall burned them 5-8 from 3. For me she was the difference in that game.
