I like that choice. Even with Iriafen still on the board?
Discussing in the WNBA thread. This is a disaster for the Sparks. They don't need a front court player at all and desperately need an immediate impact PG. What happens after Paige in this thin draft will be a nice player for them, but not likely to make much difference.

Yes, I think so. They need a play making guard more than a center. Brink will hopefully be back and healthy. Probably pick up another center in free agency.

It remains to be seen whether Brink will come back strong, or even truly want to. You really never know what is going on inside a player's head -- especially one with a history of struggling with anxiety. She has also recently gotten engaged.

I think she’ll be back. She’s a hooper, she was there with her team today and stayed really active with the players even when she was injured.

Oldacre looking like a different player at Texas. Getting up and down so much better. Her conditioning is much improved and she’s getting after it on the glass.

Remember Teira McCowan? Couldn't walk and chew gum coming out of high school, was ranked about 80th due to height only and Vic turned her into a first round draft pick. Vic knows how to build a post and oldacre will make a big difference for them this year. She's big and strong and takes up alot of space not to mention he has good perimeter players around her.

Indeed, he made a player out of big T. She was so raw, literally just a frame and he turned her into a ball player.

During the UConn/UNC post game interview Auriemma had this to say about tying Tara Vandeveer's win record - "If Pat were still alive tonight would be just another game, because she'd have another couple of hundred wins by now."
Kinda bittersweet for him I guess. True WBB fans feel the loss, even the biggest rivals.
Thanks for sharing that quote.

Watching Ole Miss and can’t fathom why they are ranked or just moved up in the rankings to 17. They look awful.

Jackson St. is worse than terrible and they can’t score on them at all. Worst offense I’ve seen out of an SEC team, including Arkansas.

They do not look fit either. I think they are a bottom half SEC team this year.

To me Arkansas looks like a team that will battle to even get two conference wins. Maybe the can beat A&M or Missouri. To me all teams in the SEC have situations they have to work out. SC of course looks again to be the top team. They again may have better players coming off the bench than some that are starting. LSU is playing a small lineup as Rosario is getting six to eight minutes on the court. If we can get our defensive problems solved that is a team we can beat at home this season. Toughest two SEC games look to be Texas and LSU on the road and of course the SC home game. I think we can get 11 wins maybe more if we get that defense shored up.

Louisville is 2 and 2 and still ranked and I know you can't always go by head to head but this early UT beat UT Martin by 40, U of L beat them by 22. And UT didn't receive 1 extra vote? Iowa and FSU will have to be beat for UT to get some attention apparently.
Alabama also dropped 2 spots after being 6 and 0 and at least look good so far, even with an easy schedule.
Vandy beat Butler by 30, who beat Indiana. That same Indiana team beat Stanford. Didn't receive but 1 extra vote to be ranked.
Miss State has 0 votes receiving and should at least have some votes to be ranked. Look like a top 35 team, although they haven't played anyone yet.

ESPN voters hate this program and have for a very long time.

Hopefully it puts a chip on the players shoulder and gives them something to play for. I firmly believe we have the right person in charge to use that as a motivator.
