Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

The way your post is written, it states that there IS animosity among the players on teams like South Carolina and Connecticut, and it COULD be detrimental.
Do you know that there is animosity among the players on those teams ? Or should it have been written "and possible animosity among the players...could be detrimental" ?
Just looking for clarification. Maybe you have inside info on those teams.
Let me rephrase that as there could be. I don't want to claim there is animosity, but when you put a bunch of 5 star Athletes on the same team and some hardly get PT, it can be hard to take for some. If that is not the case, both of those teams could be amazing from top to bottom including the 5 stars riding the bench.

I said while ago LSU will get into to the recruiting mix when they hired Kim.
I was amazed how badly Nikki Fargas struggled to bring in talent overall down there. The previous coaches (Van, Pokey and Gunter) all had no issues in general bringing in good players. Even worse, the top recruits in Louisiana kept leaving the state or transferring out of that program under her watch.

SEC should be more exciting at least.

Yeah Nikki had problems and i`m sure she did her best with the limited she had. Now with that said as i said before this team will be problem for some in the SEC. I think the backcourt of Pointer and Ursin will be a problem for teams. And look for Kim to have 6-5 Aifuwa playing at a higher level because she has the talent.

I`m a TN fan but i keep it real and call it like it is. The proof is in the pudding when it comes to this SC team it`s loaded and will be very tough to beat in the SEC this year. For a team to beat them in the SEC this year will need to matched them position by position i think. Key can hold her own against a post in the country and her defensive ability will keep TN in a lot of games.

I think Key matches up well defensively with almost all posts and has done just fine with Boston.

Tennessee's issue vs SC will be much more about other positions and scoring points in general.

Which isn't to say that another upset couldn't happen.

SC was pretty shaky last year to be so close to a title. I feel like the bench will be vastly better though.

I mean they did still win the Tournament outright and won the last 6 of 7 championships…

I don't think a team that started Saxton and Beal together and also didn't have a stacked bench should have been considered unbeatable but they were a bucket from a title maybe. That's sorta good.
