Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Pointer, Cherry, Trasi, Gusters and Aifuwa to start for LSU. Looks like Baylor 2.0 with that massive frontline.

immediate surprise is Trasi in the starting lineup. She looks to be physically in much better shape and is much more mobile. Was impressed with her two seasons ago but she was not very effective last season.

As expected, it's getting ugly early.

Already thin UK team got even thinner today… Blair Green suffered a lower leg injury and will miss the season. Endurance will surely be tested this season
The worst part of college bball season is hearing about all the injuries wishing her a speedy recovery….how many players does that leave Kyra with?

Tuned in a few minutes ago, just in time to see a combined 7 turnovers in a row. I can understand Langston turning the ball over like that but LSU ?
Now a combined 9 turnovers in the last 10 possessions. Just horrible basketball.
LSU was never a turnover prone team they were usually the ones causing it for other teams maybe some jitters and lack of chemistry

The announcers are from LSU. Somehow they've overlooked LSU turning the ball over 16 times, in the first half, against a team on Langston's level. A combined 36 turnovers in the first half.

8 honestly… king doesn’t really contribute anything and then there is a walk on so there are 10 bodies, but just 8 players that will play significant minutes

Someone had a minor injury a few weeks ago, but that has already resolved itself. We were never told who it was, but that player is playing again.

That’s good news at least! Green is a loss, she is a shooter that would have helped take some pressure off Howard.

Massengill is going to have to have a much more offensive mindset than she has had in the past. Edwards really needs to make the adjustment for y’all. She was excellent in the PAC-12 but it just didn’t translate last season. She seemed to struggle with the physicality. If she’s figured that out a bit she could be a real surprise.

LSU barely broke 70 a few games last season. Just stacked 112 and if they had made even half the layups they missed it would have been 140. A lot of the exact same players just motivated in a different way and moving at a different speed.

She inherited some excellent defensive players from Nikki. It’s only an exhibition against a terribly overmatched opponent, but they executed turning that defense into offense much better than they have been in the past. Lots of quick buckets for LSU.
