I give a darn because it's honoring someone whose grandma couldn't attend that university. Not great great grandma or great grandma but her grandma

Sometimes messages transcend the game and I believe this is one of those times. Not here to chance your feelings about the "chickens" (i crack up every time you say it) but offer if we take the basketball aside there might be a little more to the message if we slow down and appreciate it.

Shoot out very own coach played black players in the south and when it wasn't popular because "she wanted the best players on the court". I can imagine people saying "well if pat did it let me try it".

I want to beat them as much as anybody and some of them are really feeling themselves but this statue is more than about basketball.

I have no issue with race-related discussions but it DOES NOT BELONG IN A LV BASKETBALL THREAD. There are other more appropriate places to discuss these type issues. Don’t mistake this for a callous response to chicken clucking. I‘ve lived long enough to realize these type discussions are better served being discussed elsewhere and not used to leverage basketball discussions.

This is a NON LV THREAD so things that ARE NOT LV related can be discussed here AND if basketball can't be used to bring folks together than why play the sport?

Also, talking about women's basketball will often times cross over into LV land because COS fingerprints are all over the game and i love it.

i'm not mistaking this for a callous response which is why i'm approaching your post with respect in my response.

Again, this is not an argument but if what you meant was there are more appropriate places to discuss this other than a LV BOARD and not a thread I would say we will respectfully disagree because this seems like the most appropriate place for another fan to express their point of view as long as it is in a respectful manner.

Looking forward to many more positive exchanges in the future and more of you and certain posters ribbing each other (it cracks me up ).

One poster on another forum did a break down of the senior laden LSU team and their contributions to the game with SC.

One poster on here eluded to Kim being a miracle worker when it comes to the portal but with these numbers she is gonna have to pull a Merlin to help cover up and replicate what her team is doing this year with the underclassmen she'll have next year.

i won't be i think this years success is due to all those 5th and 6th year seniors... The LSU ones already had that chemistry and Morris was easier to add.

While i do NOT care for kim i am not in denial about the difference she has made this year... if she goes and gets multiple players that fit her system then maybe i just am not expecting the same level as this year.... although this year isn't finished i'm sure she is gonna make waves as sick as it will make me lol

How did the statue become the center of the topic that was being discussed anyway? For the reason the statue is up is very honorable and I have never ever questioned it or why it is there. My comments were according to the covid banner and the constant barrage of posts about SC being the greatest team of all time will go undefeated in the SEC, no one can beat us, and Dawn is at the top of all basketball world greatest coach ever. Also we are the only ones this season to beat Geno, Tara, and Kim. I said if the covid deserved a banner why not one for this accomplishment as well. Of course I used the blue font and this brought the hostile Sc responses as they absolutely demand you recognize everything they do even on your own board. I did recognize it just not in a way that they thought was acceptable. To bad if unhappy get happy again and keep posting. I'll keep responding to posts as I see fit we all can be acceptable or unacceptable just as long as we don't silence free speech we'll all be fine.

She certainly has a strong task ahead, but three or four disgruntled key players and two or three more Grad Transfers could put her back in business next season. The play immediately transfer has made that possible. I don't know how many of the players sitting this season can actually play that will be determined. If she can't find some help she will be in a very tough situation next season and that means find a lot of help.

I truly believe in freedom of speech and part of that is if you are saying your beliefs as part of that freedom people have every opportunity to respond which hopefully leads to open discussions which was the point i was making in my post about this being a NON LV thread

So yes i agree in freedom of speech. i believe we should be able to discuss this topic which deals with basketball here and like you said if that makes you uncomfortable get happy and get over it (that isn't directed at you but whoever needs to hear it).

and again as you can see my post had nothing to do with a banner... i've even joked about the banner but my post was on the statue and the speech A'ja made about her grandma not being able to attend that university. So i'm not skirting around the subject and want to be clear that was what i was addressing not your banner comment i just wanted to be clear becuz i enjoy your posts as well... and you ate correct some posters do get upset. I'm not one of them LOL i'll laugh and move on but i’m also one when im wrong to say im wrong (which happens quite often)

Trust me i don't think very many have been on their fans harder than i have since that one posted on twitter i've addressed it here and there and i just brought some of their fans back down to earth by comparing fanbases and i will continue to address how disgusting it was whenever they need a reality check or want to compare how far fans can go.

PS maybe we can all get a group discount rate if we go in together for a counselor about our past LV basketball trauma. I want to fully be able to enjoy this team but i always have that sinking feeling

But also still tread lightly because i don't see a reason for the LV or SC to have an inferiority complex...

Will try to catch that Va Tech North Carolina game. I think NC is in for it again. Maybe they learned something from that NC State game, but I think Va Tech probably learned as much or more. Tech has been playing really confident/well I don't think they will come into the game intimidated. UNC really doesn't have anyone that can check Elizabeth Kitley. She will be able to turn and shoot over really anyone on their roster. That is her bread and butter type game.

Are my picks, I have no idea about Wichita State so hard to make a call in that one. I would say USF but they have been a total enigma. Beating Stanford but having some head scratching losses and seemingly no improvement offensively thus far.

Really think Arkansas is having an issue deeper than basketball. They just don't seem to have any killer instinct this season, this league is really tough this season. If they are not careful they may be at the very bottom...
