Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Where are all those geniuses who said Banghart's job was in jeopardy earlier this season? Her team is about to pass Kellie's in the polls... 😂
She racked up a lot of wins in non conference against some really terrible teams. Her conference record is the same as ours and her team is about 20th in sos while we are five. Still to be determined if she passes us tourney to come. What injuries has that team had? If you are going to ignore that two of our key players got injured and cannot play now then you have a lot of valid points. Otherwise exactly what is your motive for posting all this.

Teonni Key says hi...
She might have helped some not as much as the players we lost would've helped us. Also they are number 61 on the sos so if they somehow pass us with that we need to quit playing the tougher teams and play the cupcakes they played. We could dump Uconn, Stanford, and only have five losses. If they had played UConn and Stanford that is two more losses for them. So if it turns out they get the better seed sos means nothing anymore.

I Hope the LV can overcome all the injury issues this season to make a run in the SEC tourney. I also will not sugar coat it, plenty of players on the LV roster are about desire and hustle but not talent. Key, Horston, Rae are are all top level. Now Horston is injured. Rae not 100% yet. The rest are hard workers, effort types. Puckett is smart player, maybe hitting fresh wall, idk. She is a good one. CKH has had to work overtime this year, and I give her much credit, but the injuries were all to best players and how the hell do you overcome that.

Maybe a call to Geno would give you the answers you need. 😉

Good post. If you told me last summer we would end the regular season 22-7 and 3rd SEC, I would have thought we would be a much "better" team. We still can't get over the hump against the best teams. Easy to imagine this team with a healthy Rae and Horston all year would have changed that. It is a credit to KJH that she's been able to duct tape it all together as much as she has so far. I have alot of hope for the future.

Based on current standings, Tennessee is set as the #3 Seed for the SEC Tournament, which begins next Wednesday. This behind #2 Seed LSU and #1 Seed South Carolina. This ensures that the Lady Vols get the double-bye to the Quarterfinals, slated for Friday.

Tennessee will wait for the 1st Round game between #11-Seed Alabama and #14 Seed Auburn on Wednesday - the winner of that game then advances to play against #6-Seed Georgia in the 2nd Round on Thursday. Then the winner between those two teams will take on Tennessee Friday. Tennessee is 2-2 against Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia this season.....
