Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

UConn "graduate student Dorka Juhász underwent successful surgery to repair a fracture of her left wrist on Wednesday afternoon at UConn Health. Juhász’s estimated recovery time is four months.
Well great fortunes for UCONN they wanted her to stay she was undecided now she has no choice because she cant participate in the WNBA season. She will be a middle 2nd rounder at best with all the players coming out next year.

No disrespect intended to Ashlyn Watkins, but...these dunks are what won her the McD Dunk Contest...?

It's high time that they just set up separate competitions for the boys and girls. If a boy did those same dunks, he wouldn't have been anywhere close to first place, so it cheapens the win.

These days you have enough girls dunking to have a separate competition.

Her injury was very apparent on the replay. It was really phugly. I'm not sure that the WNBA is high on her list. She has a degree in Psychology (in 3 years with a 3.85 gpa) and is now pursuing a degree in sports management. She had announced earlier that she would be returning for another year.

They are dunks, but 99% of them are really lame. I can't understand why there is so much hoopla when a woman dunks. One of hte reasons that I watch WCBB is because the game is played below the rim without a lot of the "looka' me" showboating that there is in the men's game.

It's still only two friggen points! Maybe someday the NCAA will make a dunk worth 2.5 points to add more "excitement". When that happens I'll switch to watching badminton.

Making a point to tell people not to contact your daughter over something happening at another school is like boycotting a business that doesn't want you as a customer to begin with. Sounds to me like the parents want attention and are going out of their way to make something they aren't a part of about themselves.
It is a problem at all schools and all sports.

Sorry….I just snorted water out my nose with that one. You dined with Pat but defend people sending death threats to players, dismiss the mothers of lady Vols as irrelevant and called a female poster “princess”. Just stop.

Says a lot about that poster.

LSU's Kim Mulkey Wins Associated Press Coach of the Year for Third Time

MINNEAPOLIS -- Kim Mulkey knew she had a rebuilding project when she took over as LSU coach this season.

The longtime Baylor coach quickly was able to orchestrate an incredible turnaround for the Tigers, who won 26 games -- 17 more than last season.

Mulkey was honored Thursday as The Associated Press women's basketball Coach of the Year, the third time she has won the award. Geno Auriemma and Muffet McGraw are the only other coaches to have accomplished the feat.

Mulkey received 10 votes from the 30-member national media panel that votes on the AP Top 25 each week. South Carolina's Dawn Staley was second with eight votes. Stanford's Tara VanDerveer received three and Nicki Collen, who replaced Mulkey at Baylor, got two along with Wes Moore of NC State. Five coaches got one vote apiece.

Mulkey named AP's top coach in debut at LSU

Anyone who has children has to be worried. I guess if you don't have children it might be more difficult to fully empathize but the children have to be protected. When it falls on the shoulders of the parents, it's a sad testament to social media.

Congrats to Kim Mulkey. I believe that Kellie would have been the leading contender if she could have gotten our injury'riddled team to the Final Four (or maybe even the Eight).

Congrats to Mulkey, well deserved...

So what does everyone think about the womens final. Will it be stanford vs south carolina in the final or could UConn and/or Louisville end up in the final?

SC - Stanford. Not sure about the final. SC will have revenge on their side which is a powerful thing. But their offense...oof. Stanford in another close one I think.

You should look up “Karenism”. Before you start throwing it around.
I’ll help because you seem lazy. A Karen is a middle aged white woman who revels in her white entitlement. Think like, the police officer will never give me a ticket. So it is not just something to throw at any woman you have a disagreement with princess.
Oh yeah, also, I believe you were firmly in the people say crazy things on the internet camp, so don’t change your story now.
Lol Karens aren’t just white so cool it with your racism. Saying crazy things isn’t the same thing as death threats which didn’t happen
