Apparently Patterson also got hurt in the Xavier game sitting on bench magically …Edwards being out must have been a no brainer to force another player out in order to postpone. I hate how smart they are lmaoThis was my first thought. Why is it a postponement if DePaul was ready to play? Clearly should be a forfeit

As I posted in the thread earlier, the Big East changed their rules about cancellation during Covid. The current rules state if one team does not have seven scholarship players ready to play at game time the game will be rescheduled. In this situation there will be no forfeit.
Colorado with the upset! 77-67 over #8 undefeated Utah, well they were undefeated. Ladyvols bested this same Colorado team by 18 last month.
This is the second time Utah and Colorado have played this year. Utah won by 28 the first time and lost by ten in this second game. That is a large variance tbh and there could be outstanding factors involved like injuries, suspensions or unusual performances to explain the 38 point swing in outcomes or maybe it’s as simple as Colorado is improving quickly.Colorado with the upset! 77-67 over #8 undefeated Utah, well they were undefeated. None of us know what happened to Patterson, but during the game her goggles were ripped off and broken. A lot of people don't know this, and most of us didn't find out until she came on board, is that she is blind in one eye. Now, if something happened to her good eye, then no matter what it was, it would be dangerous for her to play. As you guys know, we, as fans, are not privy to medical info unless the player and team want to release it. At this point, UConn fans don't know who is available because it seems that everyday there is a new issue with somebody. Just very depressing for us.
It’s the best conference to watch this year easily. They have a great style of play for a spectator because of all the ball movement and there are so many great shooters dispersed throughout the various teams. There will be plenty of teams make the tourney. It’s not a physical league like the SEC so they might have trouble matching up defensively to a good SEC type team in the tourney, but it’s a nice brand of basketball to watch.Going to be some really good games in the Big 10 today. Looking forward to it, fun league right now. Lots of really talented players.
Every conference has their own cancellation\forfeit rules and procedures. The Big East changed their procedures last year because of Covid. I do know that the Big East rule states that you must have seven game-ready players at tip off. UConn currently has six, with four questionable. No forfeit.
BIG EAST Announces Change to Basketball Game Cancellation Policy
Do you know what the SEC policy is? What if UConn hypothetically didn't have enough players for the Tennessee game?
SC and Uconn agreed mutually to cancel the game. Not sure how that figures in, but SC was not dodging Uconn obviously or vice versa, it had to do with previous cancelled Conference games due to Covid stuff and SC deemed the SEC game more important, as it was for them, because it may have decided the regular season champion.“In the event a team is unable to begin or complete a regular season Conference event due to the unavailability of participants (due to COVID-19, injuries or other reasons), that team will forfeit the contest and will be assigned a loss in the Conference standings. The opposing team that is ready to play will be credited with a win in the Conference standings. Both teams will be deemed to have played and completed the contest for purpose of the Conference standings. If both teams are unable to compete due to the unavailability of participants (due to COVID-19, injuries or other reasons), both teams shall be deemed to have forfeited the game, with a loss assigned to both teams and applied to the conference standings. Both teams will be deemed to have played and completed the contest for purpose of the Conference standings.
The Commissioner retains discretion to declare a "no contest" for any event if extraordinary circumstances warrant.”
This is for a conference SEC game. I do not know what the procedure is for nonconference games. However, keep in mind last year Dawn Staley canceled the game against Connecticut, and it was neither rescheduled, nor did either team suffer consequences.
