Non-Lady Vol Game discussion

Two games of interest tonight

Texas vs Baylor and Georgia vs Missouri

Will be interesting to see if Baylor's massive advantage at front court or Texas' massive advantage at backcourt prevails.

Haven't seen Mizzou or Georgia play this year, so I plan on keeping an eye on that game as well.

I'm assuming Tennessee will cruise through Ole Miss so I can be free to watch some of the more competitive games...

Assume nothing with the lady vols!:)

Baylor is putting it to Texas. Can Baylor get to the final 4 this year. They will be loaded the next few years.

Baylor is a 10/12 point favorite, but I Texas will win the game. They have much better guard play.
:dunno:

Baylor's Kristy Wallace named espnW's player of the week.

Baylor Lady Bears' Kristy Wallace is espnW's player of the week

The third-ranked Lady Bears beat then-No. 6 Texas 81-56 on Thursday and then-No. 20 West Virginia 83-72 on Sunday. Against the Longhorns, Wallace had a career-high 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting, four assists and seven rebounds. Against the Mountaineers, she had 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting, four assists and two rebounds. She is shooting 54 percent from the field, second on the team only to Brown's 69.1.

Your Bears play great defense and rebound well. If they played like they did against Texas they could play UCONN close.

How classy is the Mizzou coach! Way to eliquently express your feelings.

Did South Carolina fans spit on Mizzou players? | Mizzou | stltoday.com

Too bad Missouri athletics director Jim Sterk wasn’t as eloquent. His quote from the article: We had players spit on and called the ‘N’ word and things like that,” Sterk said. “I mean it was not a good environment and unfortunately and I think Coach (Dawn) Staley promoted that kind of atmosphere. And it’s unfortunate that she felt she had to do that.”

Hence why I said the coach handled it well👀 saying that a coach promoted an unhealthy atmosphere is sort of ... well wow! You can’t just say that and leave it as that. Maybe saying her intensity may have rubbed off on the fans or her comments fueled the fire but just saying she promoted an unhealthy atmosphere is just no bueno!

His comments are disgraceful.

I was kind of surprised by the low score in the Texas/Kansas game last night. Texas won 55-41.

The most entertaining game tonight may be Mississippi State at Missouri. MS State should win the game, but maybe not the scrums.

I pick UCONN to pull away from South Carolina and win by 10.

how fast does the crowd start leaving tonight after Gee no's hussies put up a 30 point lead on Staley's thugettes?

:)

I'm sure the refs have been told to call the game tight vs Missouri.

Dawn is a great recruiter and promoter of the program. The sold-out arena tonight must have been exciting to look up at.

But I haven't seen her teams win many games that they weren't supposed to. Auriemma may as well have smacked her on the azz and told her to go make him a sandwich before this game. :birgits_giggle:

I was watching the half time show for the MSU and Missouri game. Andy Landers and the crew were talking about the projected top 16 this week for the upcoming NCCA tournament. Tennessee fell the most of any team and rightly so.

Andy just said teams like Georgia and LSU are playing very near the full potential, unlike a couple of SEC teams not yet playing to the talent on the roster. We know Tennessee is one of the teams. The truth is the truth.

Hopefully we will gel and make a good run the rest of the season.
