Depends if Williams lands at TX I think that gives them the #1 class. TX should battle BU for Big 12 Supremacy for years I think you will see a changing of the guards with what TX is puttig together.
How are things looking on the UCONN front?
Williams is visiting UCONN this weekend. If she doesn't commit, UCONN is looking at 0 commits for 2018, but that just means 2019 will turn into a larger andtalented recruiting class.
Fire Holly?
DiDi Richards might be the best closer we have on campus right now. She is 3 for 3, thus far, while hosting:Nope can't fire someone when it isn't their fault. We'll never truly know how Baylor was able to change her mind especially when they already had 2 verbal commitments from players who play the same position. I also wonder what this means for Cox because she was told she wouldn't have to play the 5 and would play more 4/3 and the same with Smith who was told she would play 3/4, one of them will have to slide over to the 5 when Brown leaves....Should be very interesting and I think it also is more of a Danielle Patterson situation from last season where the player preferred one destination and the parents decided on another.
We had two players commit early without taking official visits and neither of the two did a drawn out process and dramatic announcement, The same from the #1 class last year the only one who had a major showcased announcement (which to me was more like a celebration for what she did for the Gym she frequented) was Westbrook. The other 3 announced on their visit or shortly there after.
At the end of the day you want players who want you and you can't force a recruit to come to your university. You present what you have to offer and allow them to make a decision.
BaylorBears_254:
Read the uconn boneyard board and one post said 2019 PG Nyah Green is going to flip from Louisville to Baylor soon.
Any truth to this skilledup?
skilledup:
I've heard that Green is wanting to decommit also. Not for certain where she ends up if she does but Baylor is the place where her dad wanted. You also have the connection of Green to Smith and Richards. Green was the main reason Smith was leaning towards Louisville so if she decommits, can see Baylor being the favorite. You also factor in that Scott is high on BU. She wears BU gear every time I see her play or at workouts.

Aquira DeCosta
Nalyssa Smith
Caitlin Bickle
Looking forward to three more recruiting cycles with DiDi on campus.
As far as Cox and Smith go, Kim still has 4 'ships she can use and I've heard she is still interested in Queen Egbo.

Williams and ONO are visiting UConn this weekend. We will see if that shakes any fruit loose from the trees as far as commits. I am confident someone will commit but I don't much worry about recruiting.
It will be interesting to see if one or both will commit to UCONN. I read somewhere on this thread that Ono does not want to play where the weather is cold. Will Williams choose Texas since it a lot closer to home or UCONN, where the coaching will be great and a good bet on at least one NC.

Williams is a great ball player but I've seen honesty and Williams play against each other more than once and each time Williams can't slow her down but honesty has slowed Williams down. Honesty gave Walker the blues and Honesty's team should have won the game but it was a phantom blocking call for Walker that gave Walker's team the win on the free throw line. Honesty was doing the same thing to Patterson while her team was beating Cy fair. Cy Fair had to switch Richards over to hold her and that's how they won. Where as with Williams....if you put someone quick and long on her, she doesn't have the speed to get by them. This is the main reason why it would be better for her to go to UConn instead of Texas. Geno will get you open within the offense to where as Aston isn't so creative. Geno made Lewis look unstoppable a few years ago, even got her drafted pretty high to Seattle I believe it was. She couldn't really get herself free, but geno made sure to get her free. I think he will do the same thing with Lexi. Honesty has the athleticism to thrive with KM and she is much more versatile than Williams. KM has built this team around speed at the moment and Williams would slow her down a little.
Smith and Decosta are 1a and 1b......you will not go wrong with either. Smith can shoot a little better than Decosta but you have the best two kids in the 2018 class with these 2. Decosta and smith both can dunk the basketball and both are lighting quick. I agree with an earlier post when someone said KM may have to change her style of coaching. Decosta isn't that tall....Nat and Richards are taller than she is but don't worry because she plays above the rim. I saw the game this year when she played Cy Fair and she made Collier and prince look like they didn't belong on the court with her. Spoke with Cy Fair director after the game and all he said was "Decosta is a match up nightmare". The deal with these two vs the Collier and Prince combo is, Smith and Decosta can guard them but they can't guard smith and Decosta. Smith and Decosta are just to dang mobile for them.
KM has a trio of Richards, Smith, and Decosta that can guard the 1 thru 4 and with Decosta she can guard some 5's where as Smith will guard 1-5 if need be. It will be interesting as hell is all I can tell you.
You know what's really gonna be funny. Mulkey is gonna try and schedule everyone and their mother in OOC in the next few years. I wonder who will pick up the phone. Mulkey has that scheduling game down pat.
Exactly! Her buddy Geno will prolly come to her rescue... but as far as that I really hope she gets shut out by other top programs. Its not because of her success on the court, recruiting, etc. I really lost respect for her when she made those terrible remarks in dealing with the Baylor rape victims. They were tacky, classless, and just overall stupid! She has a daughter, coaches women basketball players, and is a woman herself. So no, she doesnt get a pass from me on any front because she has a chance to speak up for something that was wrong but she didnt. Then she tried to backtrack and have tears in her eyes... yea Im irritated!
