None of these games matter

And oh yeah, that was a hot discussion that year. Should alasalami be allowed in? It was a debate.

We've established that Bama was not given BCS title consideration in 2010, because they had 3 losses and there were 3 undefeated teams that year.

Perhaps there's another year you can offer as proof there was a hot discussion about a two (or hell even three) loss Bama team being given BCS title consideration over an undefeated or 1-loss team.

He may be referencing the 2011 season when a 1 loss bama team got in over a 1 loss Okie St team. Bama didnt make it to the SEC championship that year because they lost to LSU in overtime earlier in the year. Okie State lost to Iowa State....................................yeah, they got it right that year too and anyone suggesting a loss to Iowa State is equal to a loss to #1 LSU that year is retarded.

Even with that, it still doesnt fit his ridiculous theory

I'll help out. Since the start of the BCS, here are all of Bama's 2 or 3 loss teams:

1999 - 2 losses, ranked 4th in the final BCS poll. There were 2 undefeated teams and one 1 loss team ahead of Bama.

2002 - 3 losses, not ranked in the BCS as Bama was banned from postseason play

2005 - 2 losses, ranked 13th in final BCS poll. 2 undefeated teams played in the title game.

That's it. Along with 2010, that's every two or three loss Bama team since 1998. Beginning with 2008, Bama has only had one multi-loss regular season.

But your fan base, it's so powerful...

So I stopped what I was doing and looked it up. LSU was a two loss champion in 2008 apparently so that must be what I'm thinking of. Doesn't matter one way or the other. A team could get rolled this weekend and wind up #1 in a few weeks so it doesn't matter.

Yes, a team could lose this weekend and wind up #1 assuming that enough teams also wind up losing over the next few weeks. That's kind of the idea of "sports". That's how it works.

But if enough teams don't lose, then that Week 1 loss is going to matter quite a lot. Again, that's how it works.

Can you provide an example of a team who "got rolled" in Week 1, but was ranked #1 a few weeks later, even though there were probably about a dozen undefeated teams still out there?

And the only time a 2 loss team has ever been Champ. Everyone who was in contention had 2 losses as well. Of course a team could lose this weekend and climb back to #1 at the end of the year.....still doesnt make this weekend not matter. If at the end of the year it will matter if OSU loses against VT this weekend and Tennessee wins this weekend if they have the same win/loss for the rest of the year.

It's this whole human element that is throwing me. People are flawed. They have agendas. I don't trust it. I think osu might get in over the real UT in that scenario because of the revenue they generate.

When has the human element not been involved? What system has college football ever used that didn't depend on the human element? Did you just start following the sport 3 years ago?

I think he's saying Ohio State's fan base is more powerful than Tennessee's fan base.

You may be right about this. In doing some deep critical thinking about the whole new system and season and discussing my concerns in an open forum with people who also think about this stuff. I have a problem with such powerful and influential people wielding that power without checks and balances. The system is ripe for corruption.

Well then he needs to start whipping UT's fan base into shape. The powerful aren't going to sacrifice power just to make everyone else feel good.

Tennessee's fan base needs to generate more revenue so the human element doesn't carry out its hidden agenda against low revenue producing fan bases.

A new money fan base like Florida was powerful enough to nudge almighty Michigan (and their blue blood fan base) out of the BCS national title game back in '06?

Like Chief Wiggum's kid failing English, that's unpossible.
