'25 Northwestern Transfer OL Josh Thompson

Not dascoop but I’ll give it a try.

Already said he wants to take all his visits before getting into serious negotiations.

Going to discover UT is bargain shopping and not gonna overpay by 1 penny,
Others probably asking, “what do you need to come here”
Some of you act like our program is trash and we just went 5-7. Truly unreal how some of our fans are acting today.

It's sad and infuriating. You would think this is the first loss that we've had as a program. Hell, you would think this is the first time that some of these people ever lost a game.

I agree completely. We had a dang good year. Sure, I wish we would have had a better showing against OSU but that is college football. We were off and they were on. I just hope that the game doesn't have an effect on our players and transfer targets. It's one game and we are still growing. I believe we will use this as motivation in the off season and start the 25-26 season off on the right track. But we need our guys to come back and add a few playmaker in the portal.

I was concerned that we might walk into the perfect storm. They lost to their rival - motivation. Their coach sat down on a hot (extra hot seat) - motivation. They were fired up. Football is such a game of momentum. I would have loved to see what would have happened if Eason hadn’t gotten the face mask penalty, we had them stopped! Who knows but we definitely grabbed a tiger by the tale. GBO. Will die a VOLs fan, been through some rough times, I count this as a bump in the road though.

Some of yall act like we land superstars out of the portal and went 12-0 and are playing for a Natty
No, we just had a 10 win season and made the playoff. We got beat by the most talented team in the country. You move on, try to get better and get ready for next season. We have a good recruiting class coming in, we will add a few transfers. You are acting we should shut the program down.

Some of these people only come out to bitch. Some are more professional bitchers that stick around.

It’s amazing how many on here were convinced we were gonna whip their a$$ and now all of a sudden they’re “the most talented team in the country “.
Guess Michigan and Oregon didn’t care how “talented “ they were 🤷🏻‍♂️

My honest feeling before the game was that we were going to lose a close one. Maybe something like 30-27. The fact that the game was never close and we were getting manhandled from the start is all the proof we should need that our roster is not even close to the elite teams. We also have way too many coaching deficiencies on this staff. Just sucks because i don’t have confidence that we will make the changes necessary or improve the team

So what should we do big boy? Fire Huepel? Pull Nico’s scholarship? You seem to have all the answers? What do you got?

They whooped our ass. We are awesome. Ergo, they must be the best team in the county. It's pretty simple logic.

We will be pressed to win 10 games next year. To many road games.
It's quite literally the same amount of road games as this year. Two of those road games are Mississippi state and Kentucky. Obviously Florida and Bama are tough games. We really need to win 1 of our big 3 next year, or 2 if you want to throw in OU/Arkansas into that mix.

No one is acting that way. Tone down the hyperbole. Not agreeing with every decision by the administration, staff, and players doesn't equate to wanting the program to burn to the ground. Your continous argument otherwise is silly

Really? Show me my answers. You said I have them, funny I don’t remember posting all the answers or even saying I had them.

All I’ve posted are opinions. Some of my opinions are we haven’t done all we could in the portal, any year.

Oregon beat them at their place by two points. We’ll see how that rematch goes.

There’s a line the staff and spyre half to walk in portal. This is a good example you don’t want another Campbell situation where you overpay for a guy when he’s not playing for what he’s worth. Not saying Thompson is John Campbell, we just cannot have this situation again.
Maybe I’m misremembering but I think he was much better last year at LT. What is it about these guys that move to RT and then suck? Is it lack of motivation or is it hard for them to adjust?

Now that it’s out that their team was built for 20 million dollars I would guess that they SHOULD be the best team

I’ve been saying it all year.
Heupel failed in the portal last year when he only got Heard.

I think he’s mis evaluated several positions in the last 3 years and didn’t have what he thought he had.
Not true..He got McCoy, who is our best Corner, Miles K has been our best TE, Brazzell will keep getting better, . While I do believe he needs to start shopping at Saks and Dior, instead of bargain hunting at Walmart or Dollar tree for portal upgrades. I'm not saying live in the portal like Ole Miss, but there's a happy middle there somewhere.

The dumbass side of our fan base are the ones who actually thought we would beat them, much less blow them out. Let's not get it twisted, There's very little doubt they have the most talented roster in college football. We saw what 21+ million Dollars will buy. We were outclassed and out talented pretty much as every position on the field. The talent gap was very glaring. Like every team, they have their offense weeks. Michigan to Ohio St is like Fla to us. Many, many years we've had the better team, yet still couldn't eat Fla. Michigan is Ohio St's Fla. Then Oregon, they lost by 2 in Eugene, the only undefeated team in CFB. Ohio St will hand Oregon their first loss soon. If tOSU had even a half ass good HC, they would be undefeated. But Day is an idiot.

According to the blue chip ratio they literally are the most talented team in the country @ 90%. It’s a bit flawed now tho bc I don’t think transfers are factored in.

Their game plan vs us (get the ball on the perimeter) vs Michigan were very different. They also owned the LOS on both sides of the ball vs us. Michigan has like 4 projected 1st round draft picks in the 2025 draft and 3 of them are on the DL.
