Is it? Did we get the IOL we wanted last week? Or the #1 portal OT we wanted last year? We actually crush it in the portal. We’re never ranked highly in the portal but we get who we’re after. You’d know that if you paid attention

Maybe you should go and read the front page on the football forum. I'm not the only one "overreacting". There were people calling for Nico to be replaced after the game. And others saying Huepel's job might be on the line soon. And even more calling for the entire coaching staff to be changed.

Me saying we have a lot to do to become elite is pretty mild as an overreaction compared to most posters here. I haven't called for Nico to be replaced. I haven't said Huepel's job should be in danger. I haven't even called for mass changes to the staff. All I've said is we need to recruit at a higher level if we genuinely want to compete for championships.

Now while it's true I'm more vocal in my optimism than most during the season you can't deny most fans get optimistic too. Before the Ohio State game this entire board was predicting we were gonna win. Many were predicting we would go all the way. Most I would argue felt it wasn't out of the question we could beat anyone in the field. So don't even try to act like I was the only one on here thinking we were elite. 35,000 fans wouldn't have traveled all the way to Columbus if they didn't think we were good enough to win.

Wright came in as a 17 yr old freshman. Some freshman come in already 19. Trust me that is a big difference.

I take the same approach with portal recruiting as I do high school recruiting, if you don't want to be here we don't want you here. I believe chasing the money sounds great up front, but the reality of doing that might bite you in the ass in the long run. If a player can't see what's going on here and not want to be part of it; that will be their loss, not Tennessee.

No. I just capture your attention the most. In the lead up to the Ohio State game there were posters predicting a blowout victory for us. I did nothing of the sort. There are also posters now calling for the coaching staff to be replaced and for us to get a QB in the portal to replace Nico. I've done nothing of the sort.

So tell me how I'm bipolar? I'm probably one of the most calm posters on this site given the fact I didn't overreact all season to every other game. I made multiple threads during the season saying Nico was fine and not the disaster some were trying to paint him as. I was also one of the few people who didn't overreact to the Arkansas loss saying the season was lost and we would lose to Florida and Alabama.

All I've done to get called bipolar by you is to say we're not as close to being elite as I thought going into this season after the Ohio State loss. And that we need to recruit at a higher level if we want to compete for championships in the near future. If that's bipolar then so is practically everyone on this site cause there weren't many predicting we would get skull drug by Ohio State before the game.

If Elarbee is doing his job, we shouldn't have to add another OL. But if the coaches feel he's a "must have", then I doubt Elarbee is doing his job well. I don't care where this kid goes. I only care how next year's OL plays.

And if they're subpar at pass blocking again, I'm sure I'll be raising hell about Elarbee, again.

The portal has been fine for us. McCoy, McCoy, Thornton, Kitselman, ONL, Moi, Castles, Campbell, Heard all highly contributed for us. Pili did when healthy. Brazzell needs to continue to develop. This staff has been fine in the portal.
