Not sold on Butch nor Dobbs

I agree. Georgia Fired Janek because he wouldn't aply pressure to QB's. He damned sure don't know how to mix anything Up and keep offenses guessing...way way over paid staff IMO

agree there is no pressure ...but with LBs that are slower than the speed of smell and a bunch of freshmen corners that have limited range ...how should pressure be brought ?

seems to be a conundrum of bring pressure and give up yards quick..play coverage and make it a slow burn

This. At least Dooley took this same team to OT last year. This was the worst game plan I have ever seen by a UT coaching staff. Totally exploited our weaknesses on both sides of the ball.

This all the way. Why not try to pound the rock to take some of the pressure off Dobbs? To give Mizzou some credit, they loaded up against our run game and our passing game fell flat like they expected. We really need to find any identity at all on offense. I know our D isn't playing great but it's definitely not helping that our O isn't getting first downs or TDs.

This was a pathetic showing, just admit it. Give OP a break. We run read option all year with Worley who cannot run and are in shotgun all night tonight passing with Dobbs? Not his fault though. Horrible coaching tonight, bad game plan, defense looked like Sunseri defense and offensive line was just offensive. Illegal procedure all night, no pass blocking, no holes for RB. Lane showed some flashes early...why is he not getting more PT? Not negavol but damn we should be able to be frustrated. Too early to say Butch cant coach though. One thing I have seen and commented on before is, he has his system and doesnt seem able to be capable of deviating from it. He has gotten more out of Dooley's recruits than Dooley, so I'll give him time to get his players in. 6-6 with a bowl win though is something I need to see.

Excellent post. We are not calling anyone names but just stating the obvious. But I do doubt Butch's system even with talent. And it may not be him but the OC or the play calling is horrendous.

2 interceptions, 1 fumble , and no touchdowns is considered a good performance?

Essentially two dropped touchdown passes, some very accurately thrown balls, and some great runs on the read options is what comes to mind. Not to mention he had 240 yards passing on his first start vs a top ten team on the road. This wasnt johnny football heisman winner out there.

You really just compared last year's Missouri team to this year?

Dobbs has some talent, but no touch on his deep throws and an inabillity to get it into the endzone.....I am just not seeing the it factor that people have talked about...Bray looked better against SC as a true freshman and you could immediately see his supreme talent and it factor....I'm just not seeing it with Dobbs. 3 points even as a true freshman and with wr drops ain't looking too promising...he resembles worely as a true freshman agsint SC...more so than a future stud....I am eager to see if Riley is any better...

As for Butch....the team has quit on him...oline has regressed ....defense is still awful...is.it really surprising considering what janckeck did at uga? That might as well been a Dooley team out there tonight...

No matter who our coach is we are just not very good. Missouri is a top 10 team and played like it tonight.

This^^^ I seriously question the whole "Butch is going to play whoever gives us the best chance to win" thing.....Lane has been better than Neal all year long, and I wonder about the QB position as well.

Volnation has turned into a cult...how dare you even question anything....Dobbs 2 ings and 1 fumble but hey he displayed a great effort...wtf????!!!!!

Team flat out quits and the gameplan was pathetic but if u say that them you are a negavol...again....wtf??????

Do we have nothing but newbie fans.....I have been watching ut football forever back in our heydays....and well coached teams never flat out quit....and future stud qbs show a lit .more flashes than what Dobbs showed....and to the Bray bashers....he was our best qb in years but played under our worst staff...Andy Reid has done nothing but rave about him thus far in kc.....but then again not surprising...you were the same ones trying to act like worely was good after we beat Sc...despite his consistently mediocre play......and volleygirl....stick to watching soap operas if u can't handle the harsh truth...

Butch was probably not ready for a job on this big of a stage. That being said we need to get behind him because he's our coach for the foreseeable future. He's recruiting as well as anybody in the country, which is remarkable seeing the state of the program. He like Dobbs is learning on the job. Let's hope they're both fast learners.

I don't think we stand a chance next week against Auburn as we'll be out maned and out coached. Hopefully we beat Candy and KY to get to a much needed bowl. Nothing can be taken for granted with this team.

we did take Georgia to ot and should have won that game and beat SC, I mean that was a pretty big stage.

I will say I didnt like the effort on defense and thought Missouri lines just manhandled us on both sides of the ball.

I said from the beginning this not a very talented football team, we do not have much SEC speed on defense and that has shown the last 2 weeks.

This is a different team at home and I think we will play better next week against Auburn.

Dude, the cult crap is lame. You have your opinion. Not every shares it, especially to your extreme.

Please cut the drama and just discuss whatever you want to discuss.

He also had two more dropped interceptions.......should have been 4. At the end of the day,it really doesn't matter if you have a QB who can go for 1000 yards passing in a game if he can't make any of it count. Points win games, not personal stats.

I agree that we seem to be a different team at home. I think this points to inexperienced coaching.

As far as talent, we should be on equal footing with MO.

Oh please. True freshman, first start, on the road, against the #9 team in the country. Put some things in perspective before you down the kid.

If only people would take a step back and realize this.

He's gonna be fine. He made some bad throws, but there are plenty of positive signs in Dobbs.

We will be fine.

Step back from the ledge.

We're going bowling. Vandy and Kentucky will be handled.

End result, we've got a bowl. And most of us at the start of the season were completely satisfied with that outcome. Rome wasn't built in a day. Well Tennessee is not gonna be rebuilt instantly. It'll take some time, but we're definitely trending up.

You're looking at the personal stats for Dobbs? And that tells you what exactly?

Disagree about Dobbs. I could see the talent and poise.... he needed help that didn't come.

Agree with last paragraph, unfortunately. Effort and focus is not there right now. We're a bad football team ready for the last 3 games to be over IMO.

B.S. some of you have rode this excuse for 4 season's

please ..enlighten us on the 3 deep D line rotation? Our starting LBs are not very good but they need depth too...who are their backups?

Not sure if you feel depth is important for a defense ...but most successful teams play 12-15 guys a game on their fronts . Its a long tall drink of water to find a 300 lb' der than can play 80 snaps a game and do it week after week. do we have someone like that?

How about the secondary ...who but a bunch of freshmen can we start ? other freshmen ? a few squad guys ?

is it an excuse or reason ?

ill hang up and listen

No princess, you are the one who is .lame as is ANY woman trying to seriously discuss a sport that they could never even play at any level in the first place.....I was attacked just by stating the obvious on here...you are like one of those soccer moms blindly cheering and not knowing squat..

Thank you for this. I needed something to break the tension.

You are admitting we will be out coached before the game even starts?

You must not have much of an opinion of Coach Jones. Or did you misspeak?
