not taking Vandy seriously

will be a bad mistake.
They are playing good now a smell blood everywhere.
I wish for the Vandy game our coaches can find a way to motivate our defense to play respectable.

It sure would help our season and feel good going into a bowl game at 6/6. Assuming a win at Kentucky of course.
That would show some improvement over the last few years.

With Jones recruits coming in 2014 it would give us hope for the future.

I would have hoped for a better season this year but, it is what it is.

Go Vols.

Most fans aren't taking Vandy serious because....they're Vandy. But I can promise you the team is taking them seriously after last year's game and what is at stake.

Realistically what'd you hope for? I mean I thought it'd be a miracle for us to get to 6-6 this year. I don't think there's any excuse for giving up 444 rushing yards in any game, but that's the depth and talent we have right now. If we get to 6-6 CBJ did his job. If we win a bowl game he really did his job.

Not taking Vandy seriously?

We will be the dog in this game. Not taking a team "seriously" that is expected to beat us is mind boggling.

How do you not take a Vandy team seriously who has beaten Fla and Ga in the same year?
I know they're 5-4, but still they hung 34 on Fla (who was supposed to have - at one point - one of the best defenses in the country).

Cause it's vandy. They gotta earn their keep and prove this isn't just a fluke for me to consider them a marquee sec opponent.

You're right. If someone would have said we'd get 200+ yards rushing in a game and lose it I would have said they're nuts.

Vandy didn't beat Florida, Florida beat themselves... The only way we lose to Vandy...Wait if we lose to Vandy then we should've never fired Doolander because we didn't overachieve or underachieve, we stayed the same losing course.

I am VERY concerned about Vandy. The defense and defensive coaches have laid an egg in each of the last 3 games. Vandy is not a very talented team... but I am not sure how talented a team has to be to beat this D and DC in the run game.

I don't think its our DC, I think its the players not being smart about pursuit & the lack of depth when someone makes a mistake they can't rotate out to get butch-slapped and sent back in.

You do know they had 186 yards and scored once on O right? They are pretty bad. We will kill Vandy. Why are people so obsessed with a team who has never won anything and who has not beat a good , healthy team ever?

I am taking Vandy seriously. I am sure that Franklin is chomping at the bit to run the score up as high as possible on us. The way our D and Special Teams have looked lately, it could be an ugly game.

Bingo King! I mean anything is possible...IE the Kentucky 3rd string WR/QB that out-dueled Doolander & Wilcox

Most people say "oh it's Vandy" we'll it's not the 90's anymore and they are a lot better now. DO NOT take them lightly or it will be a repeat of last year different coach or not. That is all

It really comes down to Dobbs and the running game in my opinion. Plus, some time for Randolph and the other limp-d's on D to heal their va-jay-jays

Well UF is a team in disarray, their team is got a lot of injuries and has basically given up. It's not the same UF team we played. Georgia was even more depleted than when we played them.

They have been playing decent football and if we play disciplined football we should not have too much trouble beating them. They will not be able to stop our running game. Vandy is not even in the same galaxy as the teams we have recently played.

I agree too, very serious, hardfought, as does CBJ and players, I see a W, but a hard fought Antietam W, probably the game where we see our biggest injuries, even though we have seen tougher opponents.

I don't know why we would take them serious, they just put a azz kicking on the gators what we cant do and beat the dogs , plus they kicked our azz last year, lets hope they are over looking us, boy that hurts to say, didn't think I would live long enough to see what vandy did to us last year and in a must win the following year.:eek:hmy:

has already beaten some SEC teams that are better than us and have proved it because those teams beat us.

If you think back, even when we had Bray and some top notch receivers, we lost a lot of games because our defense was atrocious, and still are.
