A Baptist is the laziest of all religions.
My experience, a Baptist likes to go to church and be told what they believe.
There is a small percent of church members that have read the bible.

I wouldnt limit it to baptists. Churches in general got lazy in the 50s and became reclusive to their communities.

Then through legal questions started a campaign for the govt to spread the gospel for them.

It comes down to it, if your lazy butt would go talk to your neighbor about christ you wouldnt have to have a coronary about public display of the 10 commandments or public prayer.

Not really. The basis would be the nicene creed, IMO. The rest of the cc teaching outside of specific stuff from the bible are just laws in spirit

Also it could be argued that if it wasnt for the cc we would be still shotting bows and arrows today. The overall body of work has been extremely beneficial to all Christians

Luke 18 29 has caused some debate in this thread. It all boils down to personal and religois faction interpretation. Pretending it is crystal clear meaning and there is a sigle, correct interpretation is stupid. Nevertheless, the pious do it every day, this thread included.

i am sure i will get flamed for saying this but it won't be first time.

The farther this country gets away from God the worse things are.
I can remembe back to the early 60's. i remember. the day JFK was killed.
when i went to public school the teacher read the bible and had prayer everyday.
if a kid got in trouble at school he got a paddling and when he got home dad busted his butt. It was an oddity for a child to be raised in a single parent home.
There was no business. open on Sunday with the exception of a hospital. Then in TN we has the Blue Law where businesses. could open between. the hours of 1-6 pm to not interfere with church services. back then it wasn't all about money.
A date did not end with sex except on a few occasions that a guy got lucky.
Over the years things have slowly. got worse.
Morals are a rarity nowadays. Children. grow up seeing their parents. sleep .with everyone they date. in some cases one date, give in with each other. What does that teach the
children?
i have not been angel. I have done a lot of things I ashamed of but I was taught right from wrong. The majority of Kids today have no idea what is right and wrong. They are a burden to many parents. They are.let do anything the want to so the parents can do what they have no business. doing.
We were a better nation when people feared God.

What is the difference between Catholics and Baptists?

1. Baptists do not recognize the infallibility of the Pope.
2. Baptists do not recognize the quasi-divinity of Mary.
3 Baptists do not recognize each other in the liquor stores on Friday nights.
