Obama Less Popular Than Bush

You may not have liked the new deal, but the people who lived through the depression would disagree.

For example, the South voted solidly democratic for the next 50 years, and elected Roosevelt to 4 terms.
Not to mention, making FDR one of the respected Presidents in history.

There's only a handful of U.S. Presidents who ended up with their face on U.S. currency, FDR happens to be one of them for reason.

So, because his face is on currency, that means the New Deal worked, and it had nothing to do with WWII? Ok.

so, that just means people have remained stupid throughout our history. Doesn't change that his plans were worthless, have left an awful legacy and were bailed out by WWII.

You could write for Hugo Chavez. Do you not think the same things will be said about him?

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. ~ Albert Einstein

Anybody could beat Wendell Wilkie!!!

I just wonder how many would respect FDR today if they knew of the extent of his betrayal at Pearl Harbor??

Or of his betrayal at Yalta for that matter.

And furthermore oklavol, FDR's new deal didn't bring the US out of the recession, on the contrary it only prolonged and deepened the depression.

That is the point you are overlooking as you blindly cheer on Obambi.

he's on the dime, big deal.

Woodrow Wilson is on the $100,000 bill.

also, the south voted solidly democratic for much of those 50 years because of segregation and other racist policies. George Wallace, Orville Faubus, Bull Connor, Al Gore Sr., Robert Byrd, J. William Fulbright, just to name a few racist democrats in the time period you just mentioned.

You underestimate how difficult it is to lead people through something as difficult as the great depression and WWII.

Not only did he lead the nation through, but was elected 4 times in the process, that is remarkable, that the faith of the people never waivered in him. That's why he is a great man.

our people just elected an empty suit because he's black and went to Harvard. Winning the popplarity contest is hardly a measure of greatness. Remember how long Hitler reigned in Germany.

The media did far more to hype FDR and keep his popularity high. Guess they did because be basically took it over, along with the SCOTUS. Historians aren't as kind to FDR as those recanting the stories of their grandparents who got free money or incorrectly ascribe end of the Depression to FDRs policies.

Historians uniformly rank FDR one of the 3 greatest Presidents ever.

BO got elected because the people has lost faith in the Republican party because of Bush.

Not even close.

then prove me wrong. don't pull a truefan and tell me I'm not smart enough nor qualified to judge history. Show me where I'm wrong and that Southern democrats in the period after WWII weren't a bunch of racist bastards.

Anybody seen the Nixon tributes? Imagine the Clinton stuff.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt constituted almost the single ray of hope that a better day would soon dawn.

From Okla's link. You could literally just replace FDR in that sentence with BO's name and change the date.

Historians unformly do no such thing.

Obama wants to be dictator now? You make comments like that and you want people to take you seriously on this board?

He is power mad. Hell, his census bureau grab proved that fact.

Do you honestly think people take you seriously? Your blind following of the Obamaidiot is laughable.
