This coming from the guy who was trying to defend his idea that Obama is trying to become a dictator like Hugo Chavis
Don't think he wouldn't if he could.
You may think slightly differently after Barry hobnobs with Chavez, Castro and others at the "People's Summit" in Trinidad this coming April, but if you still like that tyrant loving Carter, then I doubt anyone would ever change your mind, it's made up and facts have no bearing on your thinking.
----------------------------------------
BTW, you mentioned earlier the great popularity of FDR who won four terms but who was he running against??
Opponents of FDR:
1932, Herbert Hoover and the dems successfully blamed the depression on Hoover, at least in the electorates opinion, FDR came in on negative campaigning.
1936, Alfred Landon, who was probably to the left of Roosevelt. Landon had supported Theodore and his 'progressive' third party that allowed Woodrow Wilson in the White House and on down the road Landon supported LBJ's 'great society.'
1940, Wendell Willkie who was openly a socialist won the republican nomination, in 1942 was sent by FDR on a round the world trip as a special envoy. He wrote a book; 'one world' afterwards, the way I read the book it seemed that he favored Mao Tse Tung to be whom we should support to run China at the end of the war and we should give further support of the socialist USSR of uncle Joe Stalin.
In 1932 Willkie had been a delegate to the Demo national convention and was a supporter and contributed financially to the FDR campaigns in 1932 and in 1936.
Willkie was supported by many major media outlets and finally won the republican nomination on the sixth ballot at the republican convention. He said that he would keep most of FDR's New Deal welfare and regulatory programs.
In the run up to the election, the dem vp candidate Wallace was revealed to have been corresponding with a Russian mystic on political matters but the dems countered with "Wilkie is the nazi candidate." The vote was split much as the last election, FDR overwhelmingly carried the large population centers.
After the election Willkie campaigned for initiatives proposed by FDR and eventually, along with Elenore Roosevelt, was cofounder of 'Freedom House.'
1944, Thomas Dewey, rarely has America been willing to change leadership in the midst of a war and by 1944 it was appearing that we were on a path to victory. Still, FDR didn't win that election by a landslide by any means.
Dewey came the closest to defeating FDR, but there were two major things that defeated him, FDR had the union vote locked up and although Dewey had been vigorous in his prosecution of underworld figures, rumors were spread that Dewey was in league with the underworld while the truth of the matter was that FDR was much closer to organized crime, remember, his family fortune came from the opium trade.
As a matter of fact Lepke Buchalter, who was on death row, offered to reveal certain facts about FDR's involvement with organized crime in exchanges life.
Here are some facts about Lenin, Buchalter, Hillman, FDR and labor unions and organized crime.
I thought we were talking about presidents.
Grant was not president when the Yanks won the war.
He is on the list as one of the WORST presidents, no?
So we have proven than not all the presidents on currency were great presidents.
There you go, confusing Okie with facts again.
