Byron York's Daily Memo: Devin Nunes vindicated - again
DEVIN NUNES VINDICATED -- AGAIN. Think back to March 2017. Republican Rep. Devin Nunes, then chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, announced he had learned about the "unmasking" of Trump transition officials by the outgoing Obama administration. Most people didn't even know what unmasking was; it referred to the disclosure of names of Americans whose communications were incidentally picked up in U.S. intelligence surveillance. In this case, one American unmasked was Gen. Michael Flynn, the incoming Trump national security adviser, whose conversations with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak were intercepted by U.S. spies. The unmasking led to enormous grief for Gen. Flynn and the country.

Nunes' announcement was quickly dismissed as a "stunt," a "charade," and a "fiasco." "The unmasking stunt was completely fabricated," said former Obama Justice Department official Matthew Miller. "Devin Nunes is dangerous," pronounced the New York Times' Frank Bruni. "Nunes' Fake Scandal" declared the New Yorker. Similar sentiments echoed across the hallowed halls of the Washington Post, the Times, CNN, and MSNBC.

can we let Trump concentrate on the virus right now? I mean, we were told the impeachment prevented him for working on the virus response so he obviously can't operate on more than one track

It's all a diversion by Trump to distract people from his disastorous Covid-19 response. He knows his supporters will buy into any conspiracy theory he throws out there - they always follow him down the rabbit hole.
What has he done or not done that would have altered the virus and or the toll it's taken on this country?

He should have balanced the information going into his ears. He also should have included that on the stage each night and in committee meetings. Instead we got doctors basically making economic decisions when they have no clue of the effect. Well, we now see the effect

I can agree with this.

Probably one of the top 5 best decisions President Reagan ever made. Perhaps you don't realize that Col North was ahead of the curve when it came to one Usama bin Laden
And there was his secretary, Fawn Hall.

He could run circles around you. Of course that's not saying very much. You're easy. ;)

While I agree with your point if he had not done this it would have been political suicide and every death would have been laid at his feet.

He was in a no win situation.

You're right, I just can't sit in front of the TV for that many hours straight. Makes a person fat

Oh and that excuse has been posted on this board many, many times.

That's his job. If the deaths were not crazy high and the economy held on then it could have been made into a victory. He took the easy way out which is a terrible choice for a potus

He did what he had to do. There was no way of knowing how this thing was gong to play out.

You got to get on the Trump Train. This liberal stuff is going to ruin your life.
I'm not a liberal but Trump surely looks like one with all this spending. Makes sense because that was his party for a long time

Liberalism is going to ruin all of our lives if we don't beat it back. I personally like freedom. Trump's not perfect but name one President\Congress in the modern era that ever cut spending and reduced the National Debt. It grows continuously no matter who is in. It sucks but thats the cost of war and social vote buying programs.

He listened to his so called experts. You guys are on him 24/7. He had the best economic numbers ever before this and you still hated the man.
He listened to doctors and let them drive policy while ignoring any economic impact. He stated off ok and then shirked his responsibility

All those numbers are gone now and when did I ever claim to hate him? I think he's just not a very good leader

He did nothing! He abdicated to Fauci and Birx. He also claimed many times to know exactly how it would play out

Really easy doing hindsight 20/20 game but at the time he and America where being told multiple different things.

He is not a doctor. This is not his background. He trusted the doctors. The problem is Fauci wasn't ready for this either.
