I just think some of these new supporters will feel duped when he fails to put out a firm plan or add the issue to the party's campaign theme. Will it backfire on him with that age group?

didn't he already cover his ass by stating that it was a personal opinion and that he thought it was still a state's rights issue?

He'll spout off the same stuff from the last SOTU, "Put it on my desk, and I will sign it!" Sounds proactive, doesn't mean anything

I don't like it when the president gets too involved in the legislative process. Separation of powers is my preference.

yes. he both adopted dick cheney's stance in gay marriage and accepted north carolina's decision to ban civil unions and deem gay marriage unconstitutional.
