offensive coordinator named

On Jancek: John Jancek - Georgia Football

Looking at the Rivals recruiting board of who he was pursuing. Someone with more insider knowledge in recruiting could tell me how much HE would deserve credit for on the ones signed. But I do have to say I see top names and in some big schools, especially in GA and FL. This is a crucial area to have someone with ties. Even while at Cincy he was still spending a lot of time recruiting in GA and FL.

I do see Jarvis Jones as a name on this list.

I glanced over Bajakian profile...

Mike Bajakian Profile - GoBEARCATS.com - The Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati

and came away with he seems to favor a balanced offense. Last year they average 178 yd rushing a game with 385 yds total.

In 2010, the Bearcats led the BIG EAST in scoring offense (27.1 ppg), total offense (417.3 ypg), passing offense (260.7 ypg), first downs (21.9 pg), third-down conversions (45.6 pct.), and touchdown passes (27). Wide receiver Armon Binns and quarterback Zach Collaros were both First-Team all-BIG EAST selections

Biggest names in your sphere,
does not necessarily mean,
best staff in the nation.

I just curious with what he said. He said he would be bring in the best staff. What a lot of you guys failed to remember is he's the one that is judging said staff!!!! It's his butt on line, not ours. So if he's the judge then it's his call as to what the best staff is. That being said when he wins with his best staff, my guess is we will all agree!!! Let's all get behind the man and let him do his job!!! I really think we will be happy with results. But note I'm not hard to please, cause I'll be excited if we can just get the right amount of men on the field 9 out of 10 times!!!!!! Go Vols:yes:

So, would the Cinci "of the SEC" be the team that won their conference (the SEC) two out of three years? If so, I will take being the Cinci "of the SEC."

So Butch has his own offensive coordinator, whom I like more than Chaney. He need the best coaches that fits his own program

Who is out there that would be considered a "stud" defensive coordinator that would be willing to be on Butch Jones' staff? Anyone who falls into that catagorey would feel like he was more qualified to be the head coach than Jones. If you use the logic that we couldn't hire a big name head coach because of where the program is at then the same would hold true for hiring a staff.

Junior, I would like to know who your big name hire was, if it was chuckie I know why you are a junior.:eek:lol:

John Jancek is the current defensive coordinator for Cincinnati. He has coached with Butch Jones for a total of five years at Central Michigan and Cincinnati.

Jancek has been the defensive coordinator for the Bearcats since 2010 and recruiting coordinator since 2011. He inherited a defense ranked 44th nationally in scoring and turned it into the 20th-ranked defense in two years and 12th-ranked defense in three years.

has SEC experience and ties to recruiting in the region.

If Jancek is our DC, let's hope his coaching acumen has improved since 2009. He was co-DC at UGA that year, and the Dawgs gave up 37 pts to USCe, 41 to Arky & UF, 34 to Ky, and 45 points against our own Lane Kiffin-coached Vols..

These guys seem to know how to teach the systems that BJ will run. Sounds good to me. Now go get a mobile qb!

Just hope the master professor is better at football than "math" :birgits_giggle:

I'm not sure what his duties were as "Co-D Coor." at UGA, and I don't know whether he'll be good or not at UT, but no one has a bigger name than Monte Kiffin, but for all the weight that name carries, and for whatever reason, MK couldn't stop the spread offense, anyones spread offense. Do I think less of Monte Kiffin? He may well end up in the Pro Football HOF. A big name is nice, but it doesn't always equate to what we might hope for.

He should have just said, "Guys, I have the best staff in the country in Cincy and I'm gonna bring it right down to Tennessee." Then we would have all been on the same page, instead of expecting him to go out and upgrade it.

Piecing together a staff of guys that have never coached together before... Hmmm how did that work out for Dooley? Oh yeah, they couldn't work together and all ended up going separate ways/taking better jobs.

I'd rather have a group of coaches that has been together and successfully implimented a system before. Who cares if you know their name?

I want to know if they are cohesive and successful, not about the star power.

I'm sorry but "the best staff in the nation" could not be the Bear cat staff. This whole thing is going to fall apart fast.
Jones just signed up on the 11 million in 3 years plan that Dooley got.
