I didn't say you said they would suck forever. I just said you would hate it when they don't. Its pretty clear that you will.
Yes. However, given the other players that were available when the Titans made their picks, I think I would have gone in another direction most of the time. When a high priority for you is running back, for example, I wouldn't draft a guy that had 800 career yards in college.
Actually, Leinart showed more promise as a passer than Young, but the press gave Young all of the credit for every Titans victory despite the fact that the majority of the load was actually shouldered by Travis Henry.
Most would disagree with you. Only time will tell, but we picked up some good players. Have faith in our FO, lets see how the season plays out.
You've dodged this question before, and I understand why, but I'll ask again. Why didn't Travis Henry shoulder any of the load in 2005 as the Titans won only 4 games?
That is a ridiculous statement. Leinart threw for 56% 2547 yards 11 TD's to 12 INT's. Young was 51% 2200 yards 12 TD's to 13 INT's. Leinarts numbers overall were SLIGHTLY better, but he also had one of the best WR tandems in the NFL cathcing balls, while Young had Drew B. and Bobby frickin Wade. I won't even bring the running ability into this but the notion that Leinart was a superior passer is just plain wrong. Can you honestly say that if your team was down by in the 4th with 2 minutes to play you would rather put the ball in Leinart's hands over Young? If so you obviously have not watched Vince Young with the game on the line. The guy just has a knack for making game winning plays. Leinart might beat him in a throwing skills competition, but if you need confirmation about who the best FOOTBALL PLAYER is just watch the 05 Rose bowl again.Actually, Leinart showed more promise as a passer than Young, but the press gave Young all of the credit for every Titans victory despite the fact that the majority of the load was actually shouldered by Travis Henry.
Why does everyone act like the guy can't throw a football? He was nearly as efficient as Leinart (and actually thew 1 more TD with a terrible WR core), but you would think ML was leaps and bounds better throwing the ball when you read half of these posts.I wouldn't quite say awful, but certainly not good as far as a qb goes. Not a guy I'd want to depend on as a passer.
Wrong, kpt. He threw for over 200 yards in 4 seperate games last year.
Oh, so evaluating his first year in league let you know "what he can do" as a player? I'd wait a few more years before saying that. Many people said the same thing about Elway, Aikman, and Manning after their rookie seasons.
Had you read the last three words of the sentence you quoted, you wouldn't have bothered typing any of this.
But that's grossly inaccurate. He's improved immensely this offseason. From what I have seen this spring, his release is a little higher while his throws seem to be coming out just as quickly. He connected on tough throws and routes consistently during the duration of practice that week. I couldn't believe how much he improved over the last few months. Trust me, you haven't come close to seeing what he can do at this point.
