Fact checking the opening night of the Democratic convention - The Washington Post
Fact checks from last night speeches
Fact checks from last night speeches
I've been watching old Eastwood movies instead of the dhimmi convention.
GS You need to watch tonight , may be able to get yourself some good ammo.
I will highlight a few of the speakers for you..
Try to remain calm and not get too excited..
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi
U.S. Representative Barney Frank
Women's rights activist Sandra Fluke
Pkt, that is your problem even though you claim to be a Libertarian. The Feds should do NOTHING. They need to stop REGULATING, release Federal land for oil and gas exploration, and put in a flat tax. In all that, the Fed is really doing nothing. Just leave the country alone and stop trying to "fix" it. All the fixes that have been put in in the last 20 years are what has this country screwed up.
I honestly don't believe they do. The only thing they mention is taxing the rich which won't even put a dent in the annual budget deficit, much less national debt.
There is no plan to pay for it. Any of it. That's what baffles me as to why someone would vote for Obama. The govt has no money to spend and it doesn't seem to slow him down.
You are making my point for me. If they said, "hey, PKT of VN, here is what we are going to do in the next four years. Hopefully you agree with us and we will get your vote in November."
1) We are going to open up all federally owned land to the highest bidder for oil exploration. We will make sure though that they leave the smallest environmental impact possible upon the land
2) We are going to roll back X, Y, Z, Q regulations because we feel they are unnecessary and hinder the economy. Here is a link to a independent study that supports our position.
3) We are going to enact the fair tax. Go on to explain to those who don't know what it entails and how it will help the economy. Cite the Harvard studies which support it.
That is all I ask. Specifics of what they are going to do if given the next four years.
To date, each side sticks with vague talking points which contradict what they have actually done in the past. Yet, you want to sit back and chastise me for voting Libertarian and for a guy who actually has a track record that more closely aligns with his own rhetoric.
PKT, you and I are more alike than either of us care to believe. But it breaks down like this:
1) Vote for Barry, you get NONE of the above.
2) Vote for GJ, you get NONE of the above.
3) Vote for MR you stand a chance to get some of it and at least get us pointed in the right direction.
No way to know what direction Romney would point us in. His actions speaks louder than his rhetoric. When a man has been on every side of soo many issues, its tough to believe anything he says. If he had changed his mind on a couple of issues that would be understandable. That isn't the case. His record shows he is on whichever side will get him the most votes in whatever political office he is running for. That is scary.
All I am saying is that of the 3 options, Romney gives you the ONLY chance at a change in the right direction. It may be more of the same, it may be 180 degrees different, the point is, you haven't seen the worst of Barry and GJ can't win THIS election. I guess you should just stay home maybe?
