I'm not seeing the GOP being successful with that unless they tell their Bible base to screw off and open up their immigration policies some.

(As an aside, I prefer an easier, laxer immigration policy and amnesty for those law abiding illegal immigrants already here.)

I dunno that the Bible thumpers are the ones directly responsible for the anti-immigration policies.

No doubt that the GOP screwed the pooch big time on the Dream Act. Honesty, it is probably the dumbest political move in my life time.

Or you just don't care for a policy that doesn't provide a practical legal means of immigrating and achieving the American dream that us fortunate ones are born into. So yeah, by law abiding, I thought it was obvious what I was going for.

My sister-in-law is a legal immigrant. I have zero issues with legal immigration. I have major problems with people sneaking over the border, getting government benefits, health care and education that I'm paying for so that Obama can effectively purchase their vote since, of course, we can't require proof of citizenship to vote. That would be discriminatory!

I also have a major problem with the Obama administration selectively enforcing federal law based on whether or not it will win him votes while preventing states from enforcing laws on the books.

Day one goes to the Dems.

I am talking the enthusiasm of the speakers, the audience and relating to the average American.

The facts given by speakers will be checked. There were no doubt some misrepresented statements but for the average Joe that hasn't been paying attention this was a big night for the dems.

No doubt. If the rest of the convention goes as well as it did today, the Dems will blow the GOP away in the battle of the conventions.

I tried to watch the convention but about threw up from the BS so I switched it.

Anyone who votes for this guys is a moron. Flat out.

I understand if you aren't pro Romney and feel like staying out of it or viting third party but if you actually go to the polls this year and vote for this man you are retarded.

It will help for about 8 days then there back to normal and the rich are screwed.

I honestly don't believe they do. The only thing they mention is taxing the rich which won't even put a dent in the annual budget deficit, much less national debt.

There is no plan to pay for it. Any of it. That's what baffles me as to why someone would vote for Obama. The govt has no money to spend and it doesn't seem to slow him down.

Neither can do much. Hope for prez in 2013 is economy makes turnaround. Either takes full credit. Neither deserves it.

What if we reelect Obama?

Anyone with half a brain can see what we can expect from Obama except that he won't be fettered with watering down his agenda in hopes of a second term.

Even then he has eluded in the past to a third term like other socialist tyrants as he aspires to be.
