Those stats will not work in an SEC game. More balls than strikes and 4 BBs in 2 2/3 of an inning. Most potential on the team but if he cannot command the strike zone.....

I agree. It's kind of maddening to watch, not unlike Jordan McRae or Meighan Simmons. He'll throw three pitches for a K and the very next guy gets a four pitch walk. He shows flashes of why he's highly thought of, then in an instant, his inexperience shows.

On the other hand, nobody would have predicted Andy Cox was going to be the best pitcher on the staff after his freshman year/1st summer. I'm not saying KS will turn out the same, but I'm hoping he will...we need him to do so.

Great point on Andy Cox. After his first year, I thought he would be gone but last year, he was their best pitcher. Once it clicks for KS, he should be a rich young man.

Some Notes...

The Matsu Miners (Serrano, Rodgers) have clinched their division and will play for the league championship on July 29th. The Miners play the Bucs (JYB, P Lenny, Marks) tonight at 11 PM. It's a very important game for the Bucs as they trail the division leading Goldpanners by 3 games.

Andrew Lee is scheduled to pitch this evening for Brewster. Lee hasn't pitched since July 11. Brewster plays Harwich tonight (7 PM) and Harwich is tied with Y-D (AJ, VJax, Owenby). Lee could help out his fellow Vols with a strong outing. Brewster is out of contention for the CCL Playoffs.

Y-D plays plays the leader of the other division, the Bourne Braves. It's a huge game, 5 PM.

Derek Lance, of the Cincinnatti Steam, was named Great Lakes Player of the Week. This past week Lance went 11 for 21. He scored 5 times while hitting in 5 runs as well. In his 11 hits he recorded 3 doubles. The 3rd place Steam play the 2nd place Copperheads tonight at 7:05 PM.

The Hamptons League playoff race may be the tightest of all the college leagues. All six teams are vying for one of the four spots.. The Riverhead Tomcats (Plunkett, Bramlett) are 1 game back and they play South Hampton (1.5 games back) tonight, the time has not been listed. Plunkett has really come on as of late at the plate.

Andrew Lee had his worst outing of the summer yesterday. 3.2 IP, 5 R, 3 ER, 4 H, 5 BB, 2SO, 5.19 ERA

David Houser: 3 AB, 1 H, 1 RBI 1 SO, .173 BA

Andrew Plunkett: 4 AB, 2 R, 3 H, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, .301 BA* best of the summer for him

Forrest Bramlett: 4 AB, 1 R, 1 H, .215 BA

Derek Lance was 0/4, .319 BA

Last nights Miners/Bucs game was suspended in the 4th inning due to rain, they will resume that game tonight at 8 PM and will play another at 10 PM.
