Official Boxing thread

That was a fluster cluck from the beginning but I have no clue what happened at the end to bring it to that decision.

I'm a recreational (at best) boxing follower, but what if Hopkins was 39 instead of 49? Kovalev seemed like a monster nonetheless.

So I watched tonight's fight and they started talking about a fight against Golevkin and that sounds like a massacre.

But for no real reason I decided to watch Ward-Gatti 1 on YouTube and that makes me super happy!

Teddy was pissed last night at the Refs and their decision against Cave. I mean they were talking the whole time how Cave was winning the fight, every round. Then they announce for Escandon. Boy, was he pissed. Two separate rants of how corrupt boxing is. It was crazy

Anybody else watch deontay wilder win the heavyweight title last night? He seems like a good prospect if he keeps working on his craft and with the heavyweight division being so watered down he could be champion for a while by default

Wlad will make him look like every other American he's fought for a decade plus, unfortunately.

That other guy had no business being the champ either. I was telling a buddy yesterday that in any other era deontay would be fighting on espn fight night and not for a belt. He needs to stay in his lane and keep fighting so so fighters until the klitschko brothers hang it up or he's going to catch a quick beat down

From a boxing perspective, that would probably be his best course of action. From a financial standpoint, he better hope to cash in on a Klitschko fight before he's done because there won't be any big paydays in the heavyweight division after Wlad is done.

Showtime will probably keep pumping him up and give him a couple more fights to get their money out of him and get people to buy the ppv since nobody seemed to care about the title fight. Once Wlad gives him a boxing lesson his stock will plummet

I normally wouldn't care about what deontay did but I grew up in Tuscaloosa and it's nice to see a hometown boy do good but I'm also a realist
