They had 8 conference wins before tonight. All they needed was 1 more win to finish no worse than 9-9 in the ACC with a win earlier over North Carolina

I think Lunardi had them as a 8 or 9 seed before tonight's game

They needed one more win to be assured a spot. They got it so what is the big deal?

It wasn't hard to look at their schedule and think they might tank it.

Well, apparently only 2 of those 8 conference wins were against the RPI top 50. Unbalanced schedules make conference records less meaningful. Two of their wins are against NC State, who is ranked 108 in RPI. If they hadn't won tonight, they could realistically have ended 8-10.

And with their schedule 1 game wasn't a given, that's all anyone was saying

I think winning 1 out of their last 4 was realistic. Besides The game at Duke, they had a decent chance at getting at least 1 win

Since when did we get projected to win 3/4?

It has been being 16-14

Apologies, I had copied and pasted it from previous pages and it didn't post my new post with it...

Had added that for sake of discussion we all are in agreement 17-13 is minimum needed, so for this to be relevant we are assuming Tennessee hits that mark so that's what I was posting it as. Fwiw they have a 37.6% chances to go 2-2 and 35.5% chance to go 3-1 per Sagarin.

No problem.

I am starting to think 16-14 and 2 wins in the SEC might do it.

On Basilio Jerry "Palm said Tennessee is currently battling the likes of Syracuse, Pitt, Wake, Georgia Tech, Bama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Cal, Kansas State, TCU, Texas Tech, Seton Hall, Providence and Marquette among others for the bottom of the field."

That was before Texas Tech lost to Iowa State.

If Tennessee makes the NCAA tournament, Barnes has got to be a strong favorite for SEC COY of the year right? Gotta think White and Martin are the other favorites.

Should be a good day today, according to the palm reader we need Kentucky to beat Missouri, which I give that a 95% chance of happening, we need Georgia tech to beat nc state, I give that a 70% chance, and South Carolina needs to beat Florida, which I give a 50% chance of happening. If all three of those happen, and we win tomorrow, we should be back in the top 50 rpi, what I understand. We are barely out at 51 right now.
