"Ranking" is a bad choice of words. I'm sure some nut looking for clicks has a method to pump up a conference in a story. What I mean is that the SEC hasn't been worse than the other P5s and the Big East. Top to bottom... highly "ranked" mid-majors will still always have garbage teams in their bottom half that even the worst of the SEC would school.

Actually the A-10 members have mostly had a good era at some point, but not year in year out. Saint Louis had it rolling for a while. The George's show up in the NCAAT fairly regularly. The Mountain West looks like hot garbage though.

Missouri lost to the 8th place team in the A10 this season and the 9th place team in the OVC

You were saying those conferences bottom teams were worse than the bottom teams in the SEC, that's not true as evidenced by their matchups this year.

The MWC was really good for a few years.
The A10 is usually good.
I think the Colonial maybe was the other good one for a while.

The point is that if UT had the opportunities that Wake or Syracuse or Cal have, maybe there would be a couple more meaningful Ws.

I get that and have stated the same thing multiple times. However, things have been painful since the Miss State game. Especially since UT has had every chance to seal a spot in the tourney. Don't act like the last 6 games have been fun to watch.

Yes they have been fun to watch because we got to watch games that had a feel of a lot to lose or gain. No one cared about wins and losses this time last. Those weren't fun to watch

It's fun to watch a team continually spoil opportunities? Got it. Miss St, Vandy, and UGA were all tough to stomach.

I'll watch them regardless of what's on the line, but when you have a tourney spot up for grabs and you continually lay an egg. That's not fun.

You have to take the good with the bad. Ole miss, KState, Kentucky and at Vandy were damn fun and more so knowing the bubble was looming. Watching games with a lot on the line just makes it fun for me. I had more entertainment value fun watching last night than I did watching Tennessee beat Auburn last year in the SEC tourney because it was meaningless.

Hell yea I like watching competitions that matter. I also understand that one team wins and one team losses and don't fall off the deep end with losses to good teams.

So, you're saying that the SEC tourney didn't matter last year? When all you have to do is win 3-5 games and you can get an automatic invite? Good thing you didn't tell the players that the Auburn, Vandy and LSU games were meaningless. We played our best ball all year last year in the SEC tourney and beat a good Vandy team. This Vandy team this year isn't good. They're average like UT.

I was pretty down after last night.

But today I'm slightly more optimistic. We have to win out, but we have a faltering USC next. If, and that's a big if, we upset them you have to like our chances against LSU and Bama.
