Official Bubble Watch Thread

I stand by what I said yesterday, if Vols win their last 2 they're still going to be in the discussion.

I don't think you're crazy man, I believe when you say there is a chance. I just don't think this team is capable of doing what needs to be done.

They had their shot and they blew it, they let big opportunities slip away. I'm chalking it up to youth.

With that said, I'm still extremely proud of those guys for even being in the conversation, and if they make the NIT Barne's has them ahead of schedule.

I may track it down, but you told me specifically a few pages ago that this bubble wasn't even as bad as last year's.

Keep moving those goalposts.

I told you what's Jerry Palm said, that was also about a week ago or more, if you don't understand that it's a moving target not sure what to tell you? There's still time for this to become the strongest bubble ever, or worst bubble ever, as things stand today though with Vandy being projected in by many at 16-13 it's all time weak.

I've said I don't think they get it done, but the point of this thread wasn't about how likely the Vols were to ever make the dance...truthfully I don't think they ever reached a point where they were comfortably in, so this thread the entire time has been based on the same premise.

I think the frustration stems from the idea that you could have just said the bolded above a few pages ago instead of mocking those who simply enjoy following the bubble, as well as Tennessee's chances, despite how unlikely the chances of us doing what we need to do.

The possibility of us doing it and the likelihood of us doing it are two different discussions. Very few people, if any, actually believe this team will win 5 straight games.

Didn't realize everyone was so sensitive.

Didn't realize everyone was so sensitive.

Not necessarily a sensitivity issue. You just carried on for several pages telling him how unrealistic (crazy) he was being, and then openly admitted that he's not crazy. Just seems like a lot of wasted effort when you could have just said, "Yeah, it may be mathematically possible, but the way we're playing, it's highly doubtful."

That would have saved a lot of time, and not many people would have disagreed with you. Just seemed like a very Bruin-esque type argument to have.

You're blowing it out of proportion bro.

Not following why this game matters for any reason. Both teams are in no matter what and that seems clear to me.

Yea that's a mistake on my part, forgot VT had won their last game. In theory 3 losses in a row could have VT in some trouble but that's not likely at all.

Updated, made some changes...

Northwestern
Southern Cal
Seton Hall

Work left to do:

Tuesday's Games to Watch:

Georgetown vs. Seton Hall
Indiana vs. Purdue
Ohio State vs. Penn State
DePaul vs. Providence
Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky
Pittsburgh vs. Georgia Tech

Man, Chris laid out why he got on your case about it in the first place, and he's right. Notice how the real discussion stopped when you finally admitted that the tourney was a real possibility? Just say "my bad, GBO!" and move on.

Look, Bruin has been tame, Indy is no where to be found, Dallas is obviously busy training for the US U18 squad, someone has to occasionally stir the pot.

Btw I did drop it when I told BTO I didn't think he was crazy, then Chris decided to chime in.

Tennessee [15-14 (7-9), RPI: 62, SOS: 9] Tennessee's hopes are growing dimmer by the day. Now at 14 losses, one more would leave it hoping to make history as the first 15-loss team to receive an at-large NCAA tournament bid. Not impossible, but not likely. Meanwhile, save a win at Vanderbilt (which Vanderbilt got back in Knoxville last week) and, obviously, a home win over Kentucky, we're not sure why this resume would look better to the committee than, say, Illinois, which boasts the same top-10 schedule strength, more wins over tournament teams, 12 losses overall, and no defeats outside the RPI top 100 (UT has two). The Vols are hanging on by a thread here. If that.
