Official Dave Hart is Officially Woefully Inept Thread

Its not about making the decision the fanbase wants... Its about COMMUNICATING with the fanbase so that PR nightmares like what has taken place over the last month and today don't occur.

Furthermore, Hart tried to meet with Gruden Wednesday and Gruden said no. His agent is full of it.

It's a cover.

Just wait.

In a few weeks, you will see a "Official Dave Hart is a Genius" thread.

He's going to swoop in and save the day. It's just not time yet. They HAVE to cool the rumors. HAVE to.

They are trying to prime this to make the biggest splash in college football history.

At least, I truly believe they are.
Hah...hahah..hahahhaa

He must not give a damn about getting butts in seats either if he doesn't care or a pulse on what the fanbase is thinking.

I hear the term, "Well, he knows the fanbase is divided so he'll make this hire to calm us down," a lot. Quite frankly, he doesn't really care about what the fans think of the hire, if he thinks it's the best hire to make, that's the one he'll make.

Winning puts butts in the seats. Sure Gruden would have been nice, and it would have been an excellent hire, but we don't know the terms of the deal he was offering, and we don't know what Gruden actually wanted.

At least Hart gave it a go. He tried to do what the big money guys wanted. He failed. That's okay, there are other coaches out there besides Jon Gruden who have the ability to get this program back to a competitive level again.

The Hart defenders in this thread are laughable.

It should be a fun next three years with Kirby Smart, unless Hart also forgets to contact his agent and then later we find out that Kirby Smart to Tennessee was just a "fantasy world". What a joke.

If you all can't understand how embarrassing LaMonte's comments are to our university and coaching search then you have no clue.

It's one thing to know what the fanbase is thinking, quite another to make any decisions based upon the desires of our idiot fanbase. Hart doesn't owe any of you moes a play-by-play of his coaching search. He's actually doing a good job of playing it close to the vest compared to previous hires and other schools. The only information out there is wild rumors from questionable sources. If he keeps it that way throughout the search, I will be impressed (as long as the eventual hire is a good one).

I seriously doubt you have ever had a clue.

If what LaMonte says is true and Dave Hart only reached out to him for the first time this morning as a courtesy.... His ass should be on the next bus back to Tuscaloosa.

I have no special insight into what really happened, but it's pretty obvious that preliminary contacts came from boosters and people other than Hart.

Plausible dependability--it's how these things go.

Honestly, your rants are more laughable.

Brother, you're just wrong on this one. Not Dave Hart's fault. You've got some respected posters in this thread (one being a mod) telling you to aim your vitriol somewhere else.

Managing expectations is a central aspect of good management. Hart has completely failed in that regard when it comes to this search.

Because of the PR botching of this search, Hart will lose the press conference and the spring and summer will be filled with more negativity surrounding the program. Then we play an incredibly hard schedule in the fall with a team that will be learning a new system and rebuilding.

You all should be prepared for an era of very negative feelings the next 12 months, at least.

You all are a bunch of I'm assuming grown ass men acting like little girls because Gruden turned us down. This is why I'm sometimes ashamed of Tennessee's fan base. GoBigorangevols you don't know anything about anything. I came in here weeks ago and tried to tell people Gruden was a pipe dream and all I was told is that I was an ass hole and a "little boy who needs to go pull for Oregon." It was never going to happen, Hart didn't screw anything up, it was an impossible goal.

How is Hart supposed to manage your expectations when your brain is clogged with your own Gruden illusions? You made the personal choice to believe the fairy tales.

I'm willing to bet we'll see as much Anti-Hart topics and rants as we saw the Guden is a done deal ones

We should withhold judgement on Hart until we see the results from the new coach who will be sitting beside Hart in the presser.
