Official Duke/UNC 2016-17 Thread

Let's all hope so.

Haha. Fingers crossed we get one of Bolden or Jeter back and one of Allen and Kennard, preferably Kennard. Allen just needs to get a fresh start, but this season hasn't exactly gone to plan for him so he could come back.

There are two types of posters on this board. Those who hurl insults and project rage inappropriately, yet never apologize, and those who hurl insults and project rage inappropriately, yet know when to account for themselves.

You, sir, are among the latter, which is why - despite our on-and-off-again squabbles - I've never had anything but respect for you. I have a pretty good sense of people and things, and you've never struck me as anything but genuinely good at heart. At the end of the day, it is hate-less confrontation, simply fueled by ego and pride.

Really, there was no reason to apologize, but it did make you a far bigger man.

That was a great story about Hansbrough, by the way. Why the heck did you sit on that for so long?

I appreciate your compliments. I sat on the Hansbrough story because I like to think I have some
anonymity on here. Silly I know, but that's why I didn't rush to tell it.

Kevin Knox is visiting Carolina tomorrow, for the game, then Duke on Sunday. Duke needs him

Crystal ball has him going to Duke.

That'll start to change closer to commitment time. UNC has been trending lately but it'll depend on who stays and goes. Think the family likes UNC but they know for his position the best place to go is Duke. Roy is pushing him on need and being the first top recruit in a while to go there.

Please don't blow such a hard fought ACC season tonight. Let's get this regular season and #1 seed. #BeatDook

Even though everyone seems to say Jackson has POY locked up which I don't get at all, if Kennard plays well and Duke gets the W he should win.

Still don't think UNC is worthy of a 1-seed either.

How would winning the best conference outright not be worthy?

Road record against good teams is pathetic. Haven't beat a good team away from Chapel Hill. Best win may be Wisconsin or Wake?

Rotating schedule means they got a good draw this year. Only played like 3 teams above .500 in conference on the road and lost all of them.

Who should be in over them? Baylor? Meh. Oregon? PAC-12 is cupcake city outside of the top 3.

IMO, there are the more worthy teams, but since they're not in the South they won't get it. Kansas, Villanova, UCLA, and Gonzaga are the top 4 teams without a doubt, but Kansas will get the no. 1 overall seed and be in the Midwest, Villanova the East, then UCLA the West. Are they gonna send Gonzaga to the South? Doubt it. Just like I doubt they'd send Zona or Oregon to the South. Those teams are in the same boat as UNC - can't really win on the road even though they're probably just as good.

The way I see it, there are a lot of teams gunning for the last spot:

Oregon
Zona
UNC

Less likely teams: (Have to win out, including conf. tournament)

Louisville
Kentucky
Duke

Just looking at UNC's road wins and schedule I'm not that impressed enough to say they're a solid 1-seed.

Duke has lost 1 more game than UNC, has played a tougher conference schedule, and has more wins against highly ranked competition and is a 4/5 seed, yet UNC Is a potential 1 seed. Doesn't make sense.

GO TO HELL CAROLINA GO TO HELL!!

Yep.

This Duke team may very well go on to win a national title, but, thus far, it has been nothing short of an abject failure.

I expect to see more of that failure tonight.

Refs need to chill. Starting to get too involved. Can be a great game if they let everyone play.

Why does the nation hate Duke?

Well, for one, it wins a lot.

But, beyond that, take your Ted Cruz-look-a-likes of the world.

That was a clear elbow, a-la Gerald Henderson.

Ted Cruz should have been ejected from the game. That was such an unnatural movement.

When something like this (and the tripping, on mass scale) is so endemic to a program, it is indicative of a coach. A coach who admires nothing but winning, at whatever cost.

This is why the nation hates Duke.

Ejected 😂😂😂

Right call was made.

Well we could try to do it the Carolina Way but that would mean academic fraud on a massive scale.
