Official Global Warming thread (merged)

Your assumptions are as worthless as your political views. You probably believe it anytime you read "97% of scientists agree."

Do you not think it's even a little odd that you can't find a large group of scientist anywhere that believes global warming is a hoax? Sure you can find one here and there. And do you also believe that 97% of the climate scientist on earth have a vested interest in being wrong?

First off, your first question is very flawed. Have you personally interviewed all the climate scientists on the planet and asked them? Has anyone? Highly, highly doubtful.

Polls can be biased and you know that. How do we know that scientists who offered up differenet opinions were not ignored? We dont. I am not ssying thats what happened. But it could have.

I believe that humans have a hand in the climate. I believe we have done harm to this planet. That being said, I question how much we have done. You read conflicting articles all the time about climate change. One group of scientists say its not as bad as we thought whereas others have said half of Florida would be underwater by now.

If you think scientists dont operate for profit then, wow is all I can say. Do you believe these 97% of climate scientists could have been influenced by major money? Whats wrong with questioning authority?

First off, this isn't about polls. This is about scientific journals and world symposiums. Of course I haven't interviewed all the climate scientist. I don't have to interview all of the NASA scientist to know that they're finding new Exoplanets every day. The data is available, just as it is on climate change.

There's nothing wrong with questioning authority. But there is something wrong with questioning reality.

One (or a large group on this case) doesn't need to have an opposing vested interest to be wrong.

The sad thing about your post is that while your overarching point is valid, you seem utterly incapable of mounting a valid defense for said point.

They have a vested interest in continuing funding.

Some of y'all need to read up on what a solar minimum is...

Raw data suggests we are heading in to a high probability of a glaciation.

Well keep in mind science isn't a perfect...science. I mean there was once a time not too long ago where 100% of doctors thought to fix a stutter you cut a part of the persons tongue off...or the whole bleeding people to cure them. Hell, people were using arsenic as medicine up to 50 years ago..

I wonder how many people know that he is going to pull out of a pact that hasn't even started yet..

What will we do when we have to revert back to how things were are...

He is the most subsidized man on the planet ..

He's also doing huge things with that money. However, he started most of everything on his own dime, so there is that.

But Musk is certainly one of the entrepreneurs we should be holding up as an example for folks to emulate. He broke the old guard of government contractors by being innovative and challenging the norm. He's certainly a man Trump should keep close.

Current science knows everything.

This. He's also created more than 30K American jobs with more on the way (as many as 10K in the gigafactory alone). He's also not the only businessman to benefit from subsidies. US farming and petrochemical industries anyone?

Fox quote: Whether Trump plans to initiate a formal withdrawal from the Paris Accord, under the terms of the agreement could take 3 years, or exit the underlying UN climate change treaty on which the accord was based.

Agreed. And this is another gripe with the climate "scientists". Scientists are supposed to use exact words. You will be trained to do that too in your patient notes.

When "scientists" claim something is unprecedented it means it has never been observed before. They cant claim unprecedented change compared to an average. They can claim an unprecedented average compared to another average. My skepticism with anthropological climate change is unprecedented.

You are wrong.
