Who gives a s***?

There are legitimate arguments to be made against Trump, but why do so many of his detractors point first to the fact that the rest of the world and "smart people" don't like him as evidence that he is wrong?

I don't think that's your best angle, so I'm not sure I'd lead with it.

to demonstrate what a sinister, moronic clown Donald Trump is. He's wrong because he lies. Trumpsters and conservatives are all about slogan and lies--like the NRA telling us that "millions" of would be criminals have been thwarted by the gun-toting good guys. Made up numbers, made up rhetoric.

What does the list of people who wanted to back out of the Paris agreement look like?

North Korea is in the agreement. Using the "company you keep argument," does that mean that the 190 other nations should all pull out?

Again, this "but the rest of the world thinks we are a laughingstock" argument is not a good one.

I just did. Amount of concentrate per volume is the same in principle whether it be people, salinty, whisky, urine, or CO2.

Sorry, when I used the term concentration earlier, it was colloquial.

ppm is a dimensionless unit of measurement. There is no associated volume. The concept of parts-per notation is the same regardless of what it is used to describe. The scale of what is needed to increase the ppm of a compound in the context of a planetary atmosphere is not the same as the scale needed to increase the ppm of, by your example, urine

a growing market. That is where the innovation is and will be in the energy industry. Only morons would oppose renewable energy.

Man - all sorts of logical fallacies out here today.

That's quite a strawman. Opposition/skepticism about this particular agreement = opposition to renewable energy in general.

Gotcha. I was using concentration as in osmosis, for example. Concentration of molecules in a solute or volume of container.

eta: wait...are you saying parts per million of atmospheres is not literally 400 CO2 molecules per 1 million of molecules of the components of air?

Note to all individuals. You are allowed to create your own standards outside of what the federal govt mandates. Novel concept libtards.

On a side Note, Obama's just bought a 8000 sq ft home. Climate change is a real issue, right?

The opinions of "smart people" and the rest of the world are pretty important. I think they often have a better perspective than the people from within. It's sort of like an outsider to a family conflict can often offer a better perspective.

If the rest of the world and "smart people" are shaking their heads and laughing, it may be a pretty good red flag.

It is the job of leaders and politicians to look forward, to have some vision for the future. That's not conservatives and Republicans: they exist to help businesses make a extra buck in the short term--at the expense of everything else. Look at this fools--it's 2017 and they don't think companies should cover birth control in the health insurance plans! !9th century thinking.

"Smart people" are wrong all the time. The opinions of the elite about how bad the financial crisis/recession of 2008-09 was going to be is perhaps the best example.

I don't oppose renewable energy I oppose government waste on renewable energy.

I don't know anyone who is skeptical of climate "science" who avoids a more effecient or cheaper way to get stuff done.

You forgot to enter "be forced to by government decree" after the word "should."

There are good arguments to be made for all of your views, and you're really nailing all the bad ones. A good rhetorical device though, I suppose - disagreeing with whatever opinion you have (usually increasing government power) means you are backwards thinking.

Okay, withdrawing from the original agreement to negotiate new terms? Finally read the article.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/01/politics/trump-paris-climate-decision/index.html

"In order to fulfill my solemn duty to protect America and its citizens, the United States will withdraw from the Paris climate accord but being negotiations to reenter either the Paris accord or an entirely new transaction under terms that are fair to the United States," Trump said from the White House Rose Garden.

"We're getting out. And we will start to renegotiate and we'll see if there's a better deal. If we can, great. If we can't, that's fine," he added.

Perhaps I should read the article myself before using VN as my sole news source.

Good for him. Pittsburgh's job market weakens let's see how long he stays in office.

The city of Pittsburgh is a great American success story of how to transition into a modern economy with new industries and jobs. Pittsburgh made the Forbes list of best cities for job growth in 2009 because of it's strength in the health care and education industries with healthy foundations in robotics and banking industries.

Pittsburgh also ranked in the top 5 most livable cities in four of the seven multi-year rankings of Places Rated Almanac. It is not a blue collar city anymore. It sounds like this would be news to Trump. It also sounds like their mayor wants to maintain the quality of life there... So, yeah good for him... their job market is doing just fine.

:eek:lol:

I just have a pet peeve for seeing bad logic/lines of argumentation being made. Even when they are made by people I disagree with.
