What a drama queen, so trump doesn't want America to be penalized for passing some treaty based on BS data from people who have a marxist agenda. Are you an American? Or world citizen?
He is an easy target. However, if the Tesla line was cheaper and had a better infrastructure, he'd be making money hand over fist. But it's a win/lose situation for him. Accept subsidies to expand the line/infrastructure (possibly bring cost down in the long run) or don't accept subsidies charge full rate and slow expansion.
So I guess SECDEF Mattis is wrong????
Secretary of Defense James Mattis has asserted that climate change is real, and a threat to American interests abroad and the Pentagons assets everywhere

The real question is should taxpayers, by government decree, be forced to pay for his projects? Or any private business's projects? If the subsidies are there, Musk (or any other CEO) is going to take them.
Is that a legitimate use of government money? Even if his company is successful, how do I benefit? By having the privilege to buy one of his cars? Isn't it a better idea to let people voluntarily invest in his company if they want to, and get some type of return on their investment other than "that guy's company got off the ground?"
The reason he has his hand out is because the market doesn't want to give it to him yet, but the government, in their infinite wisdom, wants to experiment with other people's money.
I've answered this before, but no, I don't believe in the subsidy business with our government. Paying farmers to raise or not to raise crops, tax breaks, subsidies to the fossil fuel industry (a huge WTF question) etc. A lot of his subsidy stuff is tax breaks, so it's not like the government is "handing" him other people's money. Still the principle behind it though.
Anyway, he's done far more with government subsidies than other green energy companies. Still can't support the whole concept, but where others have failed, he's managed to make some pretty interesting breakthroughs.
