Official Global Warming thread (merged)

This shouldn't be a political issue is my point. This should be only about science... my problem with conservatives is they make it political and ignore the science.

Ok. I get it. But the poking-of-the- bear terms you used will only make your effort to discuss the merits of the science more difficult. It shuts down discussion. Surely you, as a level headed person who appreciates science and reason, understand this.

Oh...and dont look now, youre in the political forum.

Do you just ignore the fact that the whole political agenda of the left for the last 12 years has been the environment or lgbtxyz?

No. Both sides have made climate change a political issue at different times and for different reasons. I really wish someone other than Al Gore had been the one out in front of this. He is a polarizing politician, so it stands to reason that his pet agenda would also become a polarizing political topic even if it shouldn't be. My only point (that I have repeated too many times) is that one side argues science while the other doesn't. The people at Fox News are ridiculous - "Gee, it sure is cold this morning in New York!" - "It sure is Steve... Global warming my butt!"

As for lgbt? Yeah, that's strictly political but obviously a much different subject.

We believe in the science of the XX and XY chromosomes determining gender. What is the science that you believe in that makes this wrong now?

Arent some plastics made with bio oils and synthetics?

Speaking of plastics.

An ocean gyre is where the waters form a huge slow vortex. These cover much of the central areas of seas and oceans.

..."The North Pacific sub-tropical gyre covers a large area of the Pacific in which the water circulates clockwise in a slow spiral. Winds are light. The currents tend to force any floating material into the low energy central area of the gyre. There are few islands on which the floating material can beach. So it stays there in the gyre, in astounding quantities estimated at six kilos of plastic for every kilo of naturally occurring plankton. The equivalent of an area the size of Texas swirling slowly around like a clock.* A graphic of the prevailing oceanic currents that leads to the vortices of plastic (indicated by yellow dots)."...

Oh, and it's more than twice the size of Texas since the graphic was made. Added more area than the whole state of Texas,....AGAIN.

XX/XY does not determine biological sex.

A functional SRY gene or the lack there of determines biological sex.

This is what pisses me off about the "scientific" left. Do some actual research on the gene. It's only found on the Y chromosome which means it's only found in male (or Klinefelter's) and it's not a "testes grow" gene it's a "testes work" gene

Conservatives won't discuss science. Their backward party was against stem cell research for crying out loud and is mostly opposed to scientific discovery in general. Everything they argue is in terms of an alleged political agenda. You bring up scientific facts when discussing climate change with a conservative and they won't dispute what you say (because it's usually over their ignorant heads), they will just attack Al Gore (like we are supposed to care about that) or call you a tree hugger or some other pejorative term.

Ironic post is ironic.

Am departing presidential councils. Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world.

Let me ask the screechers ones who oppose Trump pulling out of the Treaty something...

Do you honestly feel it was fair the US was going to have to start paying into the UN green climate fund to pay for other nation's climate change efforts? $100 billion into that program for "developing nations."

I've seen a lot of complaining about Trump adding money to the Defense budget and gnashing of teeth over cutting other budgets, but it's perfectly okay to give away said money into a UN lush fund?

That's the elephant in the room none of you want to talk about.
